The trailer is a dump . I dump then lower the bed to make my cuts to stove length. Pretty much keeps the logs off the ground

That's a neat setup.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Hope it works first trial run have added the grapplers and a snatch block plus some other items. Now I can drag right up from the woods . Much easier to readjust the log as it goes up

You must have to pin the bed down when loading

Okay, I see now … you're moving the tongs back incrementally to get the log all the way up on the trailer. I thought your arch was flipping over to the front of the trailer, like a round bale handler or those trash bin loaders.

I tried doing that once with a makeshift outfit on a pickup and quickly decided that it was too slow and difficult to make any money at it.

Sometime I will try to grab the phone and take some snapshots of some old album pictures that we have. I started out rolling logs up ramps with the dozer blade, then loading with heel boom and tongs attached to the dozer blade, then built an electric cable heel boom loader, and then finally a couple generations of home-built hydraulic loaders.

These days I just cut firewood blocks and load them into the pickup by hand. I did buy a semi-load of pulp logs last fall and have them dumped in the sagebrush on the other side of our land, so now I just haul them about a quarter mile
