You come up with some of the neatest ideas. I may have to steal a few.

Like all the mods so far. Have them bookmarked,,,,, Plannin on comming back at a future time to ssstealll them for my truck.
I do have to ask though.............. Is there a seal or gasket around the tranny inspection cover to prevent leakage? I might have just overlooked that bit of info. Since Im at it............Is there a vid on the subject matter? |

Thanks for taking a look, the encouragement helps a lot !! Quote:
I know about the bookmarking, I do that, and save a lot of build photos from different projects going on here!! I am not 100% done with that tranny access cover... after I pull the engine back out, I am going to mark the cover from the underside and weld in baffles that will help prevent water intrusion. I will also be making a gasket for that, either a snug up with rubber hose, or some sort of flat gasket with bicycle inner tube. Either way, it will be waterproof !! More to follow on that. Quote:
I also have to confess that the angles of the cyclops light, and the mount I made were purely accidental in how they countered each other so effectively. I clearly recall mounting it up, and then taking the photo, and after posting the photo saying to myself "wow, that really looks like it was made for that..." Got my HURST C-shifter in yesterday !! Gonna get that tranny mocked up with the shifter and cut the hump before I pull the engine back out this weekend. Hooray for progress !!

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....

Good luck with that down there ******************************************************** So this week my shifter handle arrived and I was like ---- Yay !!! Then today I mocked it up to cut the tranny hump and access door, and decided to toss in the seat too, you know just to be sure. Then I was like ------- bummer !!! This is with the shifter in 1st gear..... Le'Sigh.... I always knew this may be an issue so I made sure to remember the adaption that Markb did with his build here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=444502&page=2 with this adapter plate he made, So tomorrow before I yank the engine and tranny this weekend I am going to make one of those and ensure it clears all tolerances because there have been a lot of parts to this project that have been held up or set aside waiting for the transmission and shifter considerations. I hope each and eveyone had a wonderful day, Happy Thanksgiving to all those so inclined to celebrate it. Time for dinner here !!

Yeah it took both Friday and Saturday to make the video, that is why the opening and closing temps were so different. Even so, the ending one was showing warmer just due to my wife's body heat as she was holding it !! Thanks for looking Ta2Don, I doubt Hollywood will be calling any time soon though.... Pffft.... getting that thing to render in the editing program took longer than most of the making !! Grrrrrr ,,,,,, Thank you for looking it at, after all if this stuff isnt fun, then what is the point? Might as well go out and buy some import with a warranty and call it a day, ya? Quote:
Your "I like frogs" line was killing me, and I almost..... ALMOST.....responded to that. Maybe next time. The video was fun stuff though. I am wondering what to make one of next. Too bad I didnt do it for some of my more recent mods.

Actually, I am just happy people take the time to look at my nutty build thread here... I started making an inspection plate for my transmission.... Guess I could do something video-ish with that. Thanks for the motivation, I already know the opening shot for the video.
