Re: 58 GMC Project

Well I think the weather man is a little ahead of himself. I thought this morning it would be cold but as right now it is still about 70 degrees, maybe a few degrees lower but not much. I went and worked on the truck today in a t-shirt. Well I guess it will get cold here soon and then I will have to stay inside because I hate the cold.

Re: 58 GMC Project

That's me, I hate the cold too. It's really hard to get out and work when you have to bundle up to stay warm.

Re: 58 GMC Project

Cal 58 GMC,

Would you possibly give me a measurement across the inside of the bottom door jamb. I want to check it against my truck. I'm having problems getting my doors lined back up after replacing the bottom hinge pocket and rear cab corners. I took measurements before and after and the are the same but somthing is not working out right. Any ideas on how to get the doors back in good shape?

Thanks,

B.Sharp

When I get a chance I'll take that measurement for you.

Here's the measurement you were looking for. 8.75 inches.

Re: 58 GMC Project

Not sure if I mislead you or you didn't understand. I need the dim. from front of door jamb to back of door jamb at the bottom. Should be around 3 feet. Please try again if you don't mind.

Thanks,

B.Sharp

Re: 58 GMC Project

I ran across a few old picture of two 72 Chevy trucks I once had. The first was a Custom Deluxe and was super solid with no rust. The second truck I built up from a bone stock C-10 with a six cylinder and a 350 TH trans. I ended up put a 350 in place of the six added power steering, brakes, lowered it with a 4/6 drop with new paint and Super Cheyenne interior. My son ended up with the truck. The picture is of him standing next to it. Sorry for the poor quality picture, it was scanned from a photo.

Re: 58 GMC Project

When I had my truck together and I would turn on the headlights the parking lights under the head lights would go out. Was my switch bad or did you wire it differently? I like the look of the lights always being on.
