Well this has be the most frustrating temper inducing part of putting my old truck back together arrrrgggghhhh 84 bed wood bolts..... fingers not small enough sometimes unable to contortion enough to get one of the lil buggers in place

also a friend brought up a concern with running the power cables through aluminum fixtures attached to metal lol.... So went digging around and found a guy that makes delrin line clamps to fix the problem. 4 clamps 80 bucks and custom milled to clamp the cables without damaging them

also started working on getting the interior dash parts installed. Found out the abs back panel had to be clearanced to clear the dash braces. Oh lil things I find. Eventually can unplug everything off the abs and sent it out to be made of out of aluminum by docs customs me makes a nice panel assembly
I also got the jeep cherokee door stops in today and going to start the mods a guy showed me so the doors will open fully

And also got the wiper linkage and arms done and back in the truck I apparently lost one of the pieces at some point but luckily a friend had a parts truck with what I needed in his yard.

next post is the Dynacorn wiper cowl and it is rough painted but now with the wiper linkage in place the panel is out of kilter and not lining up well with the body lines kinda frustrating you pay 200 dollars for what you think is a quality parts then it goes to crap :/

Well ordered all the parts for the bed tool box/gas tank cover build. I decided the heck with it and ordered the mar-k hidden fastener bed rails along with a few rails for the bottom wood surround for the tank order a short fleet bed wood kit so the wood will match. Also waiting on some clear bed liner to come in so I can start treating the bed wood on the truck top n bottom :d

And back to the doors got the passenger side door off and right as I was about to take it off the engine hoist ram decided to retire rotflmao lol sometimes Murphy sometimes!!!!! but got it off and drilled the alignment holes for the hinges and them hinges are not easy to take apart.... but hinges are rebuilt one is kinda stiff but should loosen up with use! and driver side latch assembly was worn out luckily there are a few nos ones still running around so new one is in hand and has original grease still on it

got some of the hardware in the other day stainless rail strips for the tool box build up. Also layed in the battery to starter cable with the 375 amp fusible link setup. waiting on some high temp sleeving to come in for it now then finish it up. Also started playing with polishing the stainless looks good rough polished also reinstalled the "I hate it " column. looking for other options this thing just is not fun working with and was supposedly DIRECT fit no mods needed..... well I tell ya mods were needed! Also looking at my throttle pedal mounting setup and going to be redesigning it here soon as well just does not look good under the dash :/

Well battery starter cable is finished and hooked up. Still a few more things to get finished with grounding cables to get the truck ready to fire up

Also got the passenger side perfectly aligned or dammed near and now have to figure how to get it adjusted so it closes properly

Also did away with the ididit column in favor of modding a 76 tilt manual column I found at a local junkyard here in the area. so far working through the little issues but getting it there. Going to be doing another test fit saturday and get it set in place

and finally the gauge cluster has been bugging me..... but finding someone to make an aluminum panel designed for speedhut gauges for a reasonable price has been difficult so trying it myself lol...... these pictures are the second attempt at it will have more this weekend to post how its coming along. I did get lucky and find the carbide cutters I needed for the gauges and the ac vent in the cluster along with a 5/8 inch metal draw through punch for the buttons...... the first panel I cut with tin snips lol not happy with it I ordered a drill mounted nibbler and came out much much smoother

Thanks I just bought the ones I needed for this project and have some drill mount annular cutters coming as well definitely handy wish I knew of them when I took a 5/8 drill but for some button holes rotflmao

Well got a couple more carbide hole cutters in yesterday and finished the gauge panel holes up everything fits beautifully now. just need a couple of pieces of 2x12 to flatten this thin aluminum back out then will be ready to do the perimeter bolt to it

And the 76 tilt steering column is just about finished. currently in contact with a local rebuilding guy who is going to smooth it out and paint it along with tear down and re grease everything. He also said he would fix any issues while inside it. Also the spacers I glued on as you can see in the pictures worked perfectly for allowing the key to function properly!!!!

Go the gauge panel redo coming along nicely, Picked up a bead blaster recently and got the panel blasted and etch primered going to start laying paint on it here soon. The panel looks good rough polished think will stick with this look

I also got the clear bed liner start..... Well lets just say it definitely dulls the clear coat sheen so will just use it on the bottom of the bed only in this case.
stuff tends to orange peel pretty badly even with a second coat..... lesson learned there is another one on the market but it 5x more expensive may get a small batch of it and try it on some bare wood I have laying around

Well started painting the cluster surround panel tonight its coming out quite nicely after getting bead blasted and cleaned up nicely! Also started mounting the gauges and switches as well..

Well finally got the cutting bit in hand for the passenger side visor mount hole. They are 1 1/4 inch diameter the MK morse hole cutter worked beautifully cut it out like butter

Got the gauge cluster finished up last night and it turned out nice... The professional ones look great but there are times just doing one yourself is so rewarding when it turns out pretty decent Also got the lokar vortec truck pedal in so will be working on its install soon. For those that do there own wiring there is another Delphi connector that fits these pedal sensors they are about 2-3 bucks at mouser parts number :15336013 its a GT 150 replacement connector for the older pull to seats much easier to service if ever needed.

I also recently got some nifty p clips in that have a ratchet closure. They are designed for telecom bundles but they are a nice way to mount my charging and battery cables. They go from 1/4 inch all the way up to 3 inch bundles and best of all they are bloody cheap lol..... I ordered I thought was just 10 of the clips to try out thinking each clip was 2.60 a piece...……. oooohhhhh no I got 10 bags of 5 each for the 2.60 price tag so will be taking a few of them back rotflmao!!!!!

Well the lokar pedal is installed and what a pain in the ass they made it. the mounting nut is semi free floating in the housing making it a total pain in the lass to get the bolt lined up through the panel. So I ended up making some mounting studs and did it that way still tore my hands up pretty good getting it fully done :/ also set up a temporary key switch on the front of the truck lol so I can test fire the engine soon!!! Currently waiting on an updated delphi plug for the pedal assembly should be in this week.
