Re: Project: Turbo 250
Well 6.5 hours later I have the exhaust 75% finished. I still have to add in the wastegate and the O2 sensor bung, and extend the pipe to the correct length behind the muffler. But the hard part is done now.

That's pretty sweet looking looks a bit off by itself of course but we get the gist of it

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Thought I would update the build thread. I finished up the exhaust just am waiting for one wastegate flange to finish bolting in the dump pipe. I tied up a lot of loose ends with the wiring under the hood and it is just about ready to fire up. Which doesnt do me much good unless this weather warms up and I can get the bodywork done. And I am still waiting for my plates back from the WI DMV. The turbo heat shield is a Titanium by DEI and the downpipe is wrapped with DEI Titanium Header wrap. The O2 bung is where my Innovate LC-1 will go for getting the carb dialed in. Oh yeah I got in some sweet chome powder coated hood hinges and hood catch that I got from another member here on the forum! You can see part of one in the top pic

Re: Project: Turbo 250
A little setback happened the other night... after getting the new trunion installed on the top case for the shifter, When sliding the shifter back into the top case, the top case busted out... sooo that means I will be back to gutting the interior again pulling the high hump back out pulling the top case of the transmission and installing the new top case which should be here mid to late next week.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
I was thinking about using Marine grade plywood for the wood bed and bolting in a sheet of polished Aluminum Diamond Plate 1/8" over top of the plywood for looks and strength as I will be using this truck when I am done.... Any thoughts on this????

Having said that, I know that the marine world uses aluminum trim on pontoon boats with marine plywood all the time. So maybe it's not a problem... Just something you may want to check into. Oh by the way, I love the way the engine bay is coming together. Also, diamond plate in the bed would l00k awesome!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Clavis 165- Thank you... I just need to tidy up the engine bay a bit too it seems busy! If your refering to Green treat plywood that is commonly available at home improvement stores, that is completely different than Marine grade plywood.... The chemicals in Greentreated will eat through just about every metal except for stainless. I would finish the marine grade in Spar Varnish so the metal wouldnt be touching the plywood either way, but thank you again for the input!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Just because you are a doctor does not mean you know a lot! I had a lot of classmates who were complete air heads! Its actually a little scary some of the people out there who are licensed who are book smart but not much else.... And Thanks again Chad!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Well got a lot of little stuff wrapped up this weekend...Buttoned up all of the little bolts up front, got the meth injection tubing secured drivers side engine bay wiring harness finished up, the front splash apron on, in the back I got a whole bunch done as well. I took out the oem shock tower crossmember and got my gooseneck hitch cut to size and set in place I also built some shock mounts and figured out a mounting system behind the axle outside the frame rail that still uses the factory sized shocks and has full travel from the axle touching the frame rail to past my full bag height! I also secured all of the brake lines properly so they do not get pinched like it looks like in the shock picture. And I do have new shocks, I just used the old ones to mock up with

Thanks guys! I Like to throw a few curve balls here and there Definitely a flatbed trailer possibly with another show worthy vehicle Have a few plans for a tilt bed trailer with air ride and will have air hook ups for an auto leveling system.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
At a conservative 8lbs of boost, I am expecting around 450 hp and 510 ftlbs torque.
