Re: 72 k20 project

Thanks guys!

so i received a part today

the C stands for cash, as in all of it

the water neck will be tight, but i can make it happen

here it is with the incredibly nasty dodge compressor. it looks like the inlet for the primary will have to be a little on the stupid side, but i guess i can work with it. for any swap where the compounds or the oem single are in the oem position and you have oil filter relocate kit, this water inlet bracket would be fantastic for frame clearance. since my turbos are forward, i get stuck with annoying.

also got the hotpipe welded

Re: 72 k20 project

Nice welding! Dang, I wonder what those oil filter relcating things look like. I'm surprised the Dodge sanden compressor fit on that inlet too. Very nice though.

Re: 72 k20 project

i have read that they wont, but i saw mosesburbs and it had the stocker on it... so i ordered it and figured i would see. this compressor is cooked, so i may look into the F-800 one that has the more compact outlets.

relocation kits... yeah....

If you are referring to the a/c compressor, mine is not a Dodge unit. It is a Freightliner application. The exact application escapes me right now, but I can check the file of doom for the invoice if you need the number on it.

Re: 72 k20 project

possibly, i think i have the number for either an FLsomething or F-800 saved on the computer right now. for some reason i thought the mounting base dimensions where different on the MD compressors. im glad i have options though!

Re: 72 k20 project

Ryan, I may have an inlet that bends around and points down from a 4BT that may fit your situation. I will see if I can locate it.

Re: 72 k20 project

Still not finished, i forgot to swing by the tractor supply store and grab a receiver tube. other than that, it basically lacks paint.

the tabs for tow points. they are also the mounting bracket. so it is directly bolted to the frame. unfortunately they are a little thin for the clevis's

Re: 72 k20 project

so i added a 1/4" plate to either side

takes up the extra space well. i also ground the welds to imitate a machined bevel. im sure it wont fool anyone but it looks better IMO

fromunda

keen eyes will notice the mounting holes are countersunk for a std 82* countersink fastener.

Your bumper is freaking awesome! I wish I lived closer. I'd have you whip one out but that shipping BS might kill it on that heavy dude!

Re: 72 k20 project

Thanks

yeah, it ended up a little heavy... its not bad compared to the standard fare of 1/4 plate bumpers, bu it still made me grunt a little when i picked it up.
