The panel i bought....Its a metra kit....I just put it in place then used self taping screw to put it there so it opens the bezel holes back up

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

How exactly does it hold it secure? is there a panel in the back to prop it up?

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

no panel to prop it up.... I back the cage on the cd player back about 1/2 an inch and secure it to the deck with short screws... Then i bend the little piece of the cage tightly against that panel so it fits securely... I cut the hole a little bit extra on the bezel so it will go over the CD deck somewhat easy but not enough to wear the trim ring of the CD deck wont cover it once installed. The metal panel itself is lined up by using the holes for the bezle that its meant to use but once i installed it like that to fit it in the right place i used self tapping screws to directly hold it to the dash then removed the bezel locations...

Thats about it

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Ok...Today or tomorrow my Tramsmission Case Vent Cap aka sending unit vent cap will be here. Im considering buying some gas line and running it down the frame to either the front or rear of the truck to get rid of gas fumes it may cause in the cab of the truck. After "Searching" around it seems that light duty trucks actually had a charcoal canister but since my truck was equipped with the HD package they used the vent cap like all HD trucks..

What do you guys think?

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

the HD vent you have is all heavy duty. Of coarse, you do have the High sierra, thats like having one of Big tens like the camper special, cheyenne or custom deluxe, there the hd C10 because there made more in the C20 model. More common submodels for C10s were the silverado, custom, and the scottsdale submodel.
