There's a long and drawn out process to set the steering box the technically correct way but this is a way I was shown a long time ago. I've been told it may cause the box to wear slightly faster but to me it doesn't matter since this truck won't get driven very often so it will still last a long time and I will most likely completely change the suspension/steering after a few years.

Thanks for the compliments on the truck. It will roll out of the garage fairly soon looking a little different. Discount Tire had a pretty decent deal going on so I picked up a set of 17x8, 17x9.5 MB Old Schools with 255/50/17 and 275/50/17 NT450's. I have most all of the stuff to lower it and everything to rebuild the front suspension is on the way.
thank you for giving me this info and in detail! i'll defintely try it. sounds like you picked a great wheel and its going to look awesome!

Do you know the rims size, width, and offset, and tire diameter.

Thank you

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

It's about a 4" in the front and a 5" in the back.

But these are only 20's on the truck now....22's from the build thread were too big for a static suspension.

These pics aren't the greatest b/c of the lighting that day. Will try for better pics this weekend.

Thanks!, I'd love to get a dropmemeber for it but Ill probably have to settle on a 4/7 drop with some grey Coys c-5s, and a overdrive 700r4 swap .

thanks for the info! I think it's a great stance. What size tires were you running on the 22s? I plan to run 265/35/22 up front and 285/35/22 in rear, just curious why you say they were too big for a static drop
