That's a hanging offence in North Carolina, messing with a guy's truck. Isn't it?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Drove up to Nevada IA for the Annual Spring Fling Car Show. What a day, lots of beautiful cars (not but a handful of trucks), 75 degrees and sunny. Looking forward to the next show.

Washed it, vacuumed the interior, cleaned the windows and wheels then took it for a drive to squish bugs all over it again.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Posted via Mobile DeviceToday was a less then spectacular day. I came home from work and fixed the starter, only to have the truck decide it didn't want to idle. I looked down to see no oil pressure at idle, but the it jumps up when giving it gas. Wonderful. Then I see smoke rolling out from under the hood. I discovered oil all over the front of the engine. Woderful x2. Looks like its off the road til I can put a new oil pump and pan gasket on it. Then I can try to figure out why it only wants to run on 7 cylinders all of a sudden. Been a crappy day.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

(Almost) finished the radio install. The Pioneer came home from a Pal that I sold a vehicle with the Pioneer installed. He liked his stereo better and gave me this one back.

I'm so far from a pro...and I know it shows...But I built the box, covered it with a couple of things that were sitting around the garage from the build so far....So the Sat. Radio
(changed out another subscription), GPS Map, DVD, big Library still in it from when I loaded a bunch of my CDs...and Mike put some of his in, too..., and Bluetooth were all a $0 cost.
That means absolutely zero.

Took me a week to do it though and I still have to smooth out some "rough edges" Everything works.

Most guys wouldn't do this....But I like sounds.

I worked it of course ~

Pulled it into the street and loaded it up with new tires and old wheels with old tires , took the lot to the tire shop and had 'em swapped around then drove it back .

One step forward, one back. Installed new fuel sending unit. Tried welding cracked exhaust manifold...made it worse. Off to the graveyard for a replacement

Are available new from NAPA , I forget the Co. that makes them but I see them on E-Bay all the time too .

Tommy , I'm sorry to hear of your woes ~ messing with a Man's truck is bad enough but stalking a Woman ? that's beyond reproach .

Took the bed off and started to prep for deep notches. Removed all the un needed brackets. But still so much to do.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I said howdy to the '67 today, but did not work on it. I straightened out the garage and inventoried my electrical supplies. Some how I fried the cheap volt ohm meter a few days ago so I added it to the list of electrical supplies needed.

I decided to take a break from the '67 today and look over and do some minor work on the '75 C-30 dually. I cleaned up the wiring mess underneath the truck by the rear bumper. Then I crawled all over and under it checking things out. I found some bolts missing from the rear cross-member so I replaced them. It was such a nice day I took the '75 for a short cruise down some old country roads and the temperature stayed withing an acceptable range. A week or so ago I replaced the thermostat and put fresh anti-freeze in it since the engine temperature was getting in the upper range of the gauge.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Replaced the alternator, forgot to disconnect the battery and nearly burned the truck down. Small wire off the positive terminal turned glowing hot and I put it out with my hand instead of making a mess with the fire extinguisher. Uh, guys, don't forget to disconnect he battery when doing electrical work. Oh well, new alternator, a little electrical tape, and she fires right up. Rock on.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Fired the truck up today. No leaks to be found. It even idled good and carried around 25 psi oil pressure. I ordered a new oil cap/breather for the valve cover...no one around here has one. I also found out why its on 7 cylinders, I have a burned plug wire. Figured it out when I touched it moving the distributor and got lit up. What fun. Chris

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Received my carb rebuild kit. Filled up the fuel tank for the first time (only had it 4 days.) Took the wife out for ice cream and some hoonage. Searched the intewebs for parts, realizing what I want and what I actually need are vastly different. What I can afford will hopefully be a happy medium. Oogled at it sitting in the driveway for 20 minutes.

I got them at classic industries. They are very nice and heavy duty rubber I used the 20% code. The code isn't valid anymore but they advertise every once in a while.
