I can't believe how much your paint looks like liquid candy! Outstanding!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Got the rear coils wire wheeled and cleaned. My son got 4 coats of paint on them.
They look a million times better. Only need to clean the rear end and paint it before assembly can begin. Steven

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
When you get the rear end to that point, many time the pinion yoke has a worn ring in it.. Great time to install a speedy sleeve and replace the seal.. Way easier now that later.. Just a FIY deal..

Where do I get a speedy sleeve? I've never heard of one.

Ground the spine down on my door lock cylinder so my doors will actually lock.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
About finished wiring with the rebel wire kit. However, I cannot for the life of me, figure out why my headlights/turn signals will not work.
The brake lights/rear turns work, but my fronts do not. Could it be my headlight switch? If so, that still would not tell me what is wrong with my front turn signals since they run off the same line as my rear. |

I'm not sure what you're talking about. All I see is something that looks like pieces of mirror glass setting on a counter. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Finished connecting the e-brake cable, then moved on to installing the carpet.
Now putting in the center console (40/20/40, 2006 silverado 1500 seat). Finished up the day with putting in the passenger side seat. Still have driver side left, but I have to save something for the next day. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I finished a mostly total rebuild of my doors. New rubber felt little plastic wheels cleaned and greased everything and adjusted the latches and hinges. I also put sound reducer strips in the doors. All I have left is to get the panels back from the powder coat guy and put on new handles. The doors shut with a finger and go thud instead of clang. Nice!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Me and my wife took the 66 out for a drive Saturday, teaching her how to drive a stick in it. Of course the 3 on the column adds a little more lol. Carson wanted to be in it today, so we drove it around in the back yard and let him steer. He really enjoyed it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I had a guy paint it for me and I should have done it myself.. I do not have a booth but should have just rented one.. I have to repaint the grill, if you look at the roof and wheels you can see it is darker.. it is vintage burgundy ( hot rodz flat series) and these paint have a life of there own if you shoot it lighter it will look another color, the gunsmoke grey is the same way.. If you apply it rather heavy it is easy to keep the same color from one part to the next.. The flatz paint does take a bit of time to get used to. I painted most everything else other than the gray on the out skin.. But will be a good rainy day project.. Grill comes out easy enough, scuff and shoot.
