Great looking truck! I noticed the absence of a radiator cover. What are you using as a hood latch?

Thanks Jim, and yes it was Nats North. The fairgrounds is less than 10 minutes from my house.

Your truck is outstanding. The paint and fit and finish make it look like a hundred thousand dollar project. I have one question. Those rubber bumpers, where did you get them and are they also for a 54? Keep up the good work. As far as the time spent, I have receipts from 1989 it's just how it goes sometimes.

Thanks for the kind words...(I assume you were referring to my truck). Yes it all takes time. This was my first attempt at working with vintage steel and I'm just an average guy with self taught abilities and a modiest budget. It shows what it possible if you stay the course....

The rubber hood bumpers are standard for 47-54. He is a link to a source.

Let me know if you need anything else.

G'day Youngrodder,
I must say, for an average guy, you'd have to be very pleased with your exceptional self taught abilities! I'm hoping my truck can finish up half as awesome as yours! Give yourself a big pat on the back. Your truck is fantastic!!! Well done.

Assie54-

Thanks for the kinds words. You build something for yourself and it is pretty cool when other people really like it. I'm still trying to get use to that. I look forward to finish the interior and put A LOT more miles on it next summer..

Old man winter will be here before we know it.
