Definitely more work. How many spot welds do you think there were? Since it will get body-worked anyway, cut & splice gets the job done faster/better for me.

I'm not sure what you were trying to say in bold??

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

not sure why its in bold there?... its not on mine. i did it to remove the rear for my extended cab. if someone was goin to take the time to install the inner panel from another truck. i think it would make it ezer to remove.

I put it in bold because I wasn't sure what you were trying to say.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I finished putting a steering knuckle back together and brake shoes on that side, then moved the truck to a spot where it'll be easier to do the other side.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I pulled the carrier out of the diff becuase I was going to swap in the carrirer from my 4x4 seeing it was a posi diff. I found out I have 3.08 gears in my truck and the 4x4 has 3.73 so I don't think the ring gear is going to swap on to it and work, so I put the carrier back in so I can bust the yolk nut loose so i can change the seal some day/.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I patched the front of the drivers side inner fender on my 66 today. No photos as the welds are snotacular! First welding I've did in 23 years.
I'm quite pleased with myself.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

tore out my old bedwood I was surprised at what actually holds the bed down. The bolts actually go through the wood to the frame. I'm afraid to over tighten the new bolts for fear of splitting the wood. Also see new wood in waiting

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

In the March 09 issue of Custom Classic Trucks there is a 50 Chevy. The guy used Boiled Linseed Oil on the planks which actually soaks into the pores of the wood and provides good protection and leaves a satin finish I'm not fond of the high gloss so if you happen to have that issue or look it up if it's good enough for his truck then I'll use it. Mark-K also has a write up about it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

We ran the wires for the back of the truck and installed the loom. I've been busy with a new job and haven't had any time to work on my truck. I had a good helper today ( my 10 year old son , the youngest ) he crawled up under the truck like he knew what he was doing. it does my heart good to see him so excited to help dad with the truck . looks like we have a gearhead in the house. I didn't get much done explaining what to do to him, but...if you have kids please get them involved in your build. there is alot of bad things to do as you grow up , but if they are into rodding it gives them a positive outlet for all that extra energy that they have. its also a good way to bond with them!!!! they grow up so fast! notice that the wire comes thru the bed for thru 41-48 tail lights that are mounted in the fenders
