Man, the more I see of those inner fenders using trimmed down outer fenders the more I can't believe I've never seen anyone do that before. Genius in the simplicity and keeping the design theme consistent. Love them.

lower50 You just taught me somethin' with that turkey. I'm gonna have to try that some time. I am not a big turkey fan but I wil try that cut down the back bone with a duck for my self and do the turkey and some rub for a couple of customers and see how they like that. I think the way you did it will make the breast of the turkey far more flavorful ( hummm is that a word) I always brine my turkeys and other birds but turkey white meat just doesn't do much for me.

Hey the mods to your bed and the split lift off wheel tubs is really different, please more pics. ohhh I just got done a few weeks ago with a UDS (Ugly Drum Smoker), stay tuned for some up coming post.

As I said earlier life happens and you don't get to spend as much time with your project as much as you want. So far this is what I have managed to get done, plus a lot of small detail stuff I didn't bother to take photos of.

After I finished the bed floor I took it back apart and started on the tail light brackets and wired up my interior dome light to a door jamb button. I went to y local hardware store and bought two 12" stainless steel braided faucet connectors, made a mount for the tail light housing and cut down a barrel nipple and welded that to the mount and threaded it into the stainless steel hose connector. To get the desired bend in the hose I ran some steel hard line wire and had a enough room to fish in the electrical wire for the lights. I got rid of the old 1156 incandescent light bulbs and replaced them with LED 1156, bulbs that last longer burn brighter and cooler.

After that I got take the bed down completely to prep for paint. and weld up some small imperfections.

Sorry I'm so late responding, thanks so much for droppin' in.

Working on the roof of the truck now, due to small dents when the previous owner use to carry one of those campers with the bunk section over the cab. Then I gotta take the bed back apart so I can paint and install one piece door glass.

Hey BC any updates? Was wondering how that 1 piece door glass came out for you? Im thinking of going that route now that I got my doors stripped out and it just looks cleaner.....

Sorry so late in responding to u PTC. I got side tracked with my fan shroud I am making and bought a higher CFM electric fan. When driving in town or open road no cooling issues but if I am stuck on the 405 Frwy not moving for 12 or 15 minutes the coolant temp. starts to creep up to 220 and above, but as soon as i start moving even if it is only 10 or 15 mph it drops back down to 180.

Also taking care of my mom full time has it challenges, so not as much time in the garage. My dad lives in another state and had to go see about him coz he suffered a minor heart attack coz he's 85 and thinks he is still a spring chicken. He went back to his job two days after he got out of the hospital. Told me to leave him alone he's fine. ohh well

I haven't done all my home work on the door windows but from what I have seen and complaints I have heard, it looks like I will have to do some fabrication to incorporate some of the old parts with the one piece glass kit to get the windows to operate smoothly. No power windows all manual. I talk to acquaintance of mine that is a lead tech at an auto-glass shop that services exotics and classic cars and he said he would supply me with the glass but he refuse to install 1 piece glass on 55-59 Chevy /GMC trucks because they are a headache and it's trial and error to eliminate the sticking or hesitation problem when rolling the windows up weather it's manual or power.

Well PTC if you start on yours before I do, please school me on what not to do. And if anyone else on here reads this and you installed one piece dr. glass your advice and comments are welcome.

I hope to post some pics soon. Finished with the new fan shroud and electric fan, also updated my low mount alternator bracket. As usual universal kits weather it be a SM block or BB Chevy, Ford or Dodge they leave a lot to be desired at times so you have to improvise to get stuff to work. So I will post photos and links to parts and manufactures to help out with any one that has run into problems trying to get that certain look. Currently doing one piece door glass work on my doors.
