Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.

My 72 I picked up this past July. Been focused on getting it road worthy (front shackles and bushings, drag link, spark plugs, alternator, battery, water pump, and carb). Finally got around to doing the upolstery on the front seats with new rear seat belts. On the list - swapping to a 72 grille and bumper, swapping wheels and tires, and getting a new soft top (or repairing the 42 year old dealer option Whitco I have).

Do you have pictures of your original soft top? I would love to see what one looks like.

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.

It's a Parchment Vinyl Whitco (made in Colorado) that was offered as a Dealer Option in 72. This one came with the truck. Here's a pic from back in July when I put it on to get some shade in the summer sun.

Here's some additional pics of the Whitco tops.

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.

New to the site after reading it for a while, but this is my 72 war wagon. I go t it about two months ago. She needs some tlc but I have replaced valve seals, put headers on, new valve cover gaskets, re-worked the brakes all the way around, and did the normal fluid and filter change so I could drive it. I have not got rid of the Holstein cow look yet but it is in the works. More pics to come, just have not had much time with the other projects my dad has lined up for me.

On the rear, driver's side of your engine block there'll be a 7 digit, raised, stamped number. Find out what it is and just interweb search it. You'll find plenty of sources that will equate that number to a year or year range and models that engine was put in. It's a pain to get to but I found that by using my cell phone, I held it back there and snapped a few pics and finally got a legible one.

Nice Jimmy, I like the look to it. I think that's the first time I see a motor with a limit strap to it.

Are those two stereo's in the dash?

I think its to keep the motor from "wrapping" the truck around itself LOL

Angry Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.

Pretty dirty right now. Tried to put these up last night but put them in the wrong place. Finally back together after the second tear down. Interior still out and debating on weather to get some new seats. HATE those fugly utility buckets and trying to figure should I replace with some nice Procar or something along that line. Can't afford stock buckets I'm so over budget now and the wife would..... well you know.

Sunday afternoon was a great day for a ride around town in an old truck. Snapped a few pics along the way.

Thanks Senorx. These are from yesterday. Went down to the Pine Barrens in NJ for some off roading and dirt biking. Right after I rolled up a pack of Blazers, Scouts and Broncos rolled in and over everything in sight. Since the last pic I added a 4 inch lift. It started pouring rain right after I left the garage, had the top off, so scrambled to get partial cover over the cab with the bike in the back. I'm into it.
