Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

It’s funny, I’m really into stock/original builds
Yet
I am always drawn to rat rods at car shows

It’s almost like they are ‘pieces of art’

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

Im not a RatRod guy either but I do like them . The cool thing to me about them is the guys love to actually drive them . I love my old cars and trucks as Drivers ,dont want a trailer queen at all . Nothing more fun to me than driving a classic car or truck cross country and back .

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

Me too. I love hotrods but I'm not a big fan of what most people are calling "rat rods" these days. While I'm not fond of the term I get what the original meaning was. What so many are putting on the vehicles to make theirs unique takes them farther away from the original intent. Chains, spikes and all sorts of outrageous things that would never have been used back in the day in the back yard builds are as common as dirt today. Of course there are no rules to observe when putting one together so anything goes. Freedom of expression at best..

Building a old car or truck that has rust all over it as part of the design makes zero sense to me! I have never understood why a person would restore a vehicle and not finish it with good paint

I have been a member here since 2011 under a different username and until about a year ago I thought Tim just loves cereal. Then I had that "ah-haaa" moment when I realized he loves Camper Special K 20/2500 trucks lol.I felt a little silly and had a good laugh at myself.

Special-K is a legend!

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

I was in the process of building a metal shade cover for my trucks so I had to move them out of the way so no welding material or accidents would happen to them.

As I got out of my truck and started walking away I looked back and thaught that’s a great picture, it’s like how I would imagine it was done back in the day.........

Shade is complete, truck’s are happy and now waiting on mother nature to do her job so it will match the gates I did a couple years ago.

I wish!! It's a swb Custom Deluxe in 514 med. red.Needs cab corners and rockers but the body is very straight. I have been collecting everything need to put on the Cheyenne Super trim package.Unless I win the lottery my chances of owning a real swb Cheyenne Super are slim. It's good to have dreams though

Plain Jane but I'm a sucker for any shade of orange on these trucks. From light red to med red or any of the actual oranges:hugger, tangier red orange and so on.I love original paint, even if its not perfect. It's a look thats hard to beat.I wanted to make you an offer on that 72 med red K20 with the dump bed
