There are at least 2 different radius arm frame brackets. One is a bit lower than the other. I would use the lowest one, or maybe fabricate your own. There are 'C' bushings available with different degrees of rotation in them.

I know you want a 10degrees of kingpin rollback to drive great .

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild

I do plan to use the stock ford radius bars and mounts even . It's a road truck so extra articulation is not really a big deal. Thanks for the advice though I may use it on the next off road truck. I will build a better ps hard rod though , something with less angle . I'm not sure how the steering box and tiered will be just yet . I am using a 79 c-10 2x4 owner box and pitman arm .

I know that's been done I remember a few yrs back I think it was a 4 wheeler magazine that there was a 67-72 chevy 2WD that was converted to 4x4 using the FORD setup up front and used the 2WD rear and moved the rear trailing arms to sit I think on top of the rear end... the truck looked really good....

Yea , there's a guy close to home that did it with a 68 swb and flipped the arm on top of the housing and hung a leaf spring 44 Chevy version and that's what gave me the idea . I don't think ill flip it though just bock the spring 4 in . I did a 90 gmc once ( it was already 4x4) with ford coils and a 9 in because it was cheaper than fixing the split open ifs front and it drove great ! But this will be my first 4 corner coil on road version . I'm not sure to plan to make a sway bar or just try it with out.

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild

Hey have any of you guys had trouble with stock lug studs being too short for some of these new aluminum rims , I'm looking for some longer 7/16 565 shoulder like 4x4 have on the front but not having much luck , soon be ready to drive though so I'm searching.

Check out the Dorman Catalog. They have a ton of different size studs.

Man that Yellow one that's a whole lot of yeller...I really dig the silver step side and I like the custom touch of those cross flags on the fender...

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild

Wish I had more pictures of both of these two. A 64-66 GMC Short Bed 4X4 and A 1966 Chevrolet Long Bed 4X4. Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the three different years on the GMC's ? By emblems, grill, hood, original paint color or scheme or something else?

Maybe too obvious but a couple of differences I'm aware of are with the grill letters and hubcaps. The 64-65 grill letters (G and C) were oval shaped while in 66, the G and the C were more squared off... plus the 66 had a groove running though the letters which was painted red. The hubcaps for a 66 had a raised ridge around the center and also at the edge of the three pointed star shape (or whatever you call it). The 64-65 hubcaps were flat here.

to add to this, on 64 GMC the head light ring used two screws and a spring in 65 the head light ring used three screws to hold the head light and the spring was moved to the head light bucket, 66 used dull wiper arms and the top of the dash was darker, 66 head windshield washer and back up lights both of these were option before 66.
No big changes just a bunch of little things.
