Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

Check out these guys Will Hudson and Homer Hudson of Hudsons Rod and Customs on the Spike TV's Search and Restore. They were on last week and will be on this week as well.

We decided to truck out to Strawberry Plains Tennesse in mid November to have Will and his dad Homer complete the interior and to finish the weathered patina'd effect of the cab. Will will be calling in some help from Jamey Jordan at HandMade Seat Company to assist with the center console and seats for NO PAINT.

The pictures you see below are Will's business cards. The design on the back of the card is the layout for NO PAINT.

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

The temp gauge on the motor is a good idea. A friend suggested that to me after I installed a new temp sender in my truck and the dash gauge was pegged after 10 minutes of running. I installed a temp gauge and it turns out my truck was only running a little hot, the sender/gauge wasn't accurate at all.

The powder coating looks beautiful! What would you have charged to powdercoat your frame and all the Porterbuilt parts?

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

To powdercoat this job it would run around $1000-$1200 with blasting and a epoxy powdercoat primer basecoat and a solid color powder topcoat. That would include the rear end and all suspension parts. We also apply a 3 stage phosphate wash and a sealer /rust protector also.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

That is an insane deal right there. There isn't a shop around here that I know of that does that level of detail for powder. Most shops just blast, phosphate wash, then coat. Maybe a double coat, but not a primer/top like that.

I wish you were closer.
