Went to give an estimate today and spied this LB out back. Got the job and the truck too. The guy also has a SB for sale that I'll be looking at tomorrow.

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

Spent Saturday helping my brother get his '66 ready for Crusin' the Coast. He's been working on his truck at his friend's shop who happens to be a true old school bowtie guy. Took me back to my childhood hanging around my uncle's shop.

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

The short bed truck mentioned in post #603. In pieces, but mostly there except the engine and trans. I made a deal for both trucks. I'll start a thread once I get them home.

Any chance on your sharing your wheel/tire specs? Loving the look and stance.

That's awesome, I'd keep it original! Not many of those heavy haulers around anymore....

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

Is that a floating axle? Or just enough to get extra load rate?

Green on lift my truck took over. Red on ebay. 4x4 next one on list, GMC, v6 working with welder on back up and til a few years back. Sad window Lil open but not much high Desert snow. 6000ft.

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

The tag axle was added at some point in time . Could have been off of anything Looks like an old IHC axle. Maily to take weight off the main drive axle.

I see trucks like this all the time here in western Nebraska. Farmers still use them from time to time to bring their sugar beets in from harvest.

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

I saw this 64 C10 a couple of days ago in front of a Goodyear store in Lincoln NE. Then yesterday it was at a shop in Walton NE, just east of Lincoln. Had to stop and then spoke to the shop owners. It is reported to be an all original, unrestored truck. There was not a spot of rust to be seen. It did have some usage, wear on the tailgate, a few dings, tear on the seat, but was otherwise a remarkably well preserved truck. Even the bed wood was intact, one plank was a bit warped, but not rotted at all. The guy who brought it in was getting tires on it and do some brake work so that they can ship it to his son somewhere in New York. And what in the picture looks like patina is actually just a layer of dust from storage. I would love to talk to the owner and get the history. Paint looks like it could be buffed and would be showroom condition.

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

these trucks where heavily over looked for so many years. The guys that had them we could not get parts do to no body wanted anything to do with these trucks.Back in the mini truck days of the 80's-90's these trucks where junked.

The guys that bought them for penny's on the dollar are making a killing now.I was told a long time ago when the picking where good.If your not a body man buy only the ones that need very minmuale work.So i did just that so i have a small collection that is now being found out.But there are still people that think they can buy them for nothing. That will in in 5 more years. The guys are out buying really nice trucks and parting them out what a shame
