Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

Hey! I cleaned up the LCAs and pressed in the ball joints several days ago. I didn't completely polish them up but I did knock off all the big stuff so you wouldn't have to. I also have that front bumper in the bed of my truck too. I haven't knocked off the front sway bar mounts yet but I know you want them back. Between the holidays, my girls having birthdays on both Jan 2nd and 9th, not to mention the Rat Race I haven't been able to get back with you. Depending on both our schedules maybe we can get together this week. See ya soon!!

Yes...I need a better daily driver. Our 2000 Honda has almost 200K miles on it and all kinds of issues now popping up. (needs brakes all around, tires, shocks/struts, tranny flush, timing belt at 200K, catalytic converter, door regulator, etc....
Needs more work than it's worth. Company pays a fair car allowance but no way I'm buying new.....looks like I'll easily put 50-65K miles/yr on my vehicle...maybe more...

Looking for a newer Honda van because this has treated us so well and has great room for the kids/stuff. Once the truck is sold and I have a better work vehicle the next priority will be catching up on bills....then some savings....then I'll definitely be getting a "trash truck" Hopefully something like this truck but already running where I can slowly fix it up and add my favorite options to it...

Thata exactly what my 68 has been. A slow build that I have consistently been adding all the options too over time. Keeping a keen out here on the parts board and local swap meets and eBay. It's fun that way.

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

Truck is SOLD! Received the deposit this morning! Buyer wants airbags so I'm happy I'll get to see it bagged like I originally planned. Bmerdoc is going to be helping me get the front end back together and I should be able to get it together and running shortly after that. Also need to get the last patches welded in. I'll take pictures as I finish it up and keep everyone posted.

Thanks, yes, it sold to a board member but not sure if they are going to post on here or not. They are someone who enjoys reading the forum and not really posting which I respect and understand.

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

Well, this weekend didn't work out as well as I hoped. Bmerdoc worked Saturday until the evening and I had evening plans I'd forgotten about so I got a little done in the morning and then ran some parts over to his shop...he has the steering link to blow apart and the a-arms to get the factory bumpstops off for me.
I got a few small things done but the majority of the time was gathering the last parts together, getting the parts needing work to Bmerdoc, and planning out the rest of the work. I am getting ready to leave for 10 days out of state but planning to work the whole day the saturday I return. Hoping to get some time tomorrow night or Wed night to get a few items knocked off the punchlist also.

Here are pics of the suspension and air ride parts...also a new headlight switch, a new speedometer cable, and pads for when the wood goes in the bed that will go with the truck.

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

Finally back in town after 10 days in louisiana and alabama. Bmerdoc came over yesterday and helped me out. Got the front bagged and back together minus steering (need a pickel fork to take off the idler arm and replace with the new one). New brake lines, new lower ball joints (uppers are good and have under 30k miles). New idler arm, tie rods, and adjusters will go on later. Found out my new master cylinder is bad so I will go get another and we'll go round 3 on bleeding the brakes. I got the fuel system finished up. New fuel filter and rubber lines (modern fuel injection ones made to hold up to newer fuels) run between the fuel line and fuel pump.

Will get some pictures of it all together and on the ground as soon as we get the steering link buttoned up and brakes bled.

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck

I have a power steering pump on the way and a new master cylinder on order. Waiting for bmerdoc to have time to break down the steering linkage and bring that back over and we'll get that installed and then it'll be time to get the front clip on and get it running!
