My 1990 V3500 has a 6" lift (leafs only) and 35" tires.

Only a few more inches higher and you can park the blazer under the crew

haha.. maybe one day. Gotta figure out how big I can go while keeping it a comfortable daily highway driven truck. The way it is now with 6" of lift and 35" tires, it doesn't handle much different then before I lifted it. Its a work truck, not an off roader, but even so, I wouldn't mind doing a coil spring conversion up front just to soften the ride. Also, gotta trade my pitman spacer block for a left to right pitman? arm setup to get rid of some bump steer. Does anyone know if thats a stock option, and if so, what the correct name for that "pitman arm" part is? As for the front coils, someone suggested modifing a Dodge 2500 long arm kit, and I haven't found anything easier short of building it from scratch..

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

This is a short box half ton conversion that I saw while driving through Ontario a few years back. I stopped and talked to the owner about it, and he told me that it was actually registered as a 1992 model. He said it was an ex government truck. I've seen a 73-91 body suburban listed as a 1992 as well. Has anybody else heard of this before? I've seen overlap in body/crossover body style years before, just not for 1991-1992 chevs

I almost bought this one last year, kind of sad I didnt. It was a pretty cool truck, but it came out of michigan, it has some serious rust on the underside.

Can the average public buy those, or do you have to have a repo/wrecker service?

Anyone can buy em, they cost about 6800.00

They make a version that is not an auto hooker for about 5 grand.

The catch 22 with these is that you have to reinforce your frame.

On my 85 I am plating it with a piece of 3/16" cut to contour with the frame starting from behind the front cab mount.

I really like the setup though because I can still use my truck as a hauler, and because it will have the wheel lift it will mean that I dont have to push vehicles that I am picking up, and since my trailer is a 48 footer, instead of having to back it in some place really occuard taking a whole bunch of time, I can unhook from it, grab the vehicle I need to load, pull it out, and then load it in an more conveniant spot.

I am toying with the idea of starting a salvage yard here, if I do this truck is gonna be great for going and picking up any vehicles that I buy, expecially if they are non runners.

Here is one I found up by dallas for sale, it is a 4x4, has a small block 400/th400 in it, I am seriously thinking about buying it.
