picked up my free spare 68 hood yesterday that i will eventually chop up and make a cowl hood scoop out of, and then i will eventually attach it to my hood current 67 hood

 , and if it doesnt turn out oh well it was free anyways haha. but if that is the case i will buy a pre-made steel cowl scoop and weld it to my current hood

well my accel coil took a dump, so i replaced it with a stock one i got for free from a buddy since i dont have the cash for a good aftermarket one right now. and since i dont have the stock cover to go along with it, and i like the look of the accel one better, i decided to paint it red instead of leaving it grey.... think i like it alot better red
crap..... now i need to either replace, or paint my faded red distributor cap red again or black, hmmmm decisions decisions.  and in its hiding spot out of the elements |

got the hood masked off for where i need to cut it up
first piece removed and another and what's left after the third piece was cut out the beginning of mock up.... |

standing back to get a first look at those two pieces
third piece added in side view of hood slope to make sure its gonna look right need to cut the center piece to make it shorter so it will match the two side pieces standing back to get an overall look to see if i like it.... which i do . now i need to attempt to tack it together for now with my crappy flux core welder, so that i can do some more cutting and fitting on it, then i will most likely wait to finish it until i get a better welder Last edited by project 67 sub; 11-13-2011 at 02:55 AM. |

all tacked together
center piece cut down and tacked in a rear side view will be just about 4" tall when its done another overall view standing back looking at it edit: oh! this used to be a 50th hood at one time in its life
