Re: MY build thread...
Well guys karma strikes again! My power steering box is leaking again! So time for a new!!! Anyone know what all years fit with captain fab plates... I have a 72 box now but I think the shaft is scored up causing it to leak.. If I could post pics I'd show you my next venture is to cut my freshly varnished wood that I have to cut more for tire clearance...

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...power+steering ^^^According to post #22, a P/S gear box from '69-87 will work. Just keep in mind that they switched to metric in 1980 I think. I bought a new Fenco gear box for mine from Advance Auto. I also used one for a '72. If you use online discount codes, you could knock a decent chunk off the price!

Re: MY build thread...
Well guys I'm not very happy at all... I've been through two starters now this year, one broke nose cone one split bendix gear and now when the last one came apart it destroyed my SFI flywheel costing me $100 for the flywheel and a $60 difference for a new mini starter!!! I even used the brace on the first one and still broke... Wish I could just afford to go buy a turn key motor and drop it in....

Re: MY build thread...
Well, well, well. Looky what the stork brought. Congrats to both of you.
The first few years go pretty well, but then... School, Ballet lessons, Soccer, Just the right clothes, Just the right food, Boys, Cars, College. And then they leave for another love of their life and you are finally left with time for your truck. But by now you've forgotten how to work on it and even where what tools you have left are. But don't worry 'cause in a couple of years you won't have the time between baby sitting and chauffeuring the grand kid(s). Dave, 2 daughters, 2 step daughters, 5 grand daughters. Way too much estrogen in my life. |

Re: MY build thread...
Thanks guys for all the compliments... She's my first priority for sure! Long story to get where we are now! I did start it yesterday and let it run to get fluids moving but my plan is to do so all winter so it doesn't sit and seals get hard...

Troy, I'm sitting here wasting away in 67-72ville and ran across this. It belongs as the subcategory in cars above. (66 pickup by Bomp #1048 talking about his daughter)

Congrats on your newborn !!
Sorry I am late to this .... I always thought the secret to raising girls was: Make them smart and teach them the merits of Martial Arts, and a steady trigger squeeze.... Sadly I never did get to test my theory on this.
