Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
What, no bed frames? That looks like real steel!
Should hole the weight and torque very well.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
just a suggestion. the way that you have the ears of the mount, up and down, will make for difficult removal in the future. if you turn the mounts on the frame 90 degrees, facing front to back, you will be able to remove the mount. FYI, love what you are doing and I get most all of the Vice Grip Garage type slang you use.
keep up the good work. following along for the craftsman ship you are putting it to it.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
you know what they say: "Grinder 'n Paint make me the welder I aint!"
seriously though, the back side had to be ground flat to mate with the trans bell housing plate, feel me? the front was ground to hide the crappy welds! |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
well dem ISOFORMA USA Amazon vendor peeps did us no favors weldering that stud aka bolt in there like that for us, don't tell a.c.ward but gosh darn it he was right it was impossible to extract this contraption in it's current native state, so these bolts had to be liberated, thank you for using cheap easy to grind grade 5 hardware
and don't we all just luv buying new parts, just so that we have to modify 'em! |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
It's looking really nice. I still say a mockup gas engine needs sat in there to make it look like there really is a gas engine in there. What Jeep do those mounts come from? That looks like a good option for many things.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
Maybe even one with a generator on it for back up situations? That way if you can find some gas you can at least recharge your batteries and make it where ever.
