Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Bradm I really like your truck just as it is. But if you ever get a wild hair about painting it I hope you put it back to root beer brown. I know that was hot in the 60's and 70's but I think it's coming back.

Don't worry Dan I'm not painting the truck, it's way too much fun not having to worry about it!

Nice truck ... I like all of the work and style you have put into the inside and out on your truck.

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

For sure one of my favourites. Your truck was the deciding factor in me clipping my truck with a G-body clip. So, thank you sir. It worked great and well done. Keep it up!

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Was at the Grand National Roadster Show on Saturday with Alex and just saw Tuesday that someone had a little fun out on the grass! I wasn't around but apparently a model and photog liked my truck! Pretty cool and the show was absolutely awesome as usual!

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

A couple weeks ago Alex and myself were pondering about how the truck would look if we made the wheels look like they'd had the DOW 7 coating done, to give them the old school magnesium look? After a few quick pics and a 5 min. Photoshop deal this is what we came with. It sounded good while we were thinking about but just not sure after seeing it...

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Just my 2 cents, but I would leave the rims as they are. They already have the old school look and they suit the truck. Somewhere down the road, I may swap my Centerlines out for the Halibrands after seeing yours.

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

So the Dow 7 coating huh. Honestly it just isn't my thing. But looking at the pics the wheels look more gold than anything. I like the wheels the way they are now. So I hope you keep'em looking good..........

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Hey guys, I'm still around! So much for the Dow7 look for the time being, we'll just stick with the polished wheels and call it good. Been doing a bunch of stuff to the 'liner which is pretty much my main focus! Here's the front suspension and steering before it's final welded

[URL=http://s214.photobucket.com/user/truckdude123/media/Mobile%20Uploads/2014-04-02_16-39-58_270_zpsd4edfa49.jpg.html][/URL

Now on to the back of the car! I have a little complaint for some of you who feel the need to PM me and ask REALLY stupid questions like "did you use Mustang 2 suspension or how did you lower it, what size tires and wheels?" Seriously people, I've tried to be as descriptive and helpful as possible but I want to be a complete smartass when answering those questions, so I just don't! Sorry, that was my big vent for the day! Have a great weekend!

Hey Brad: I understand the desire to be a smart ass when people ask a dumb question. I get them all day from customers.
Your fabrication skills are mind blowing. I would really like to see the 'liner run when its done.
I've read your build thread on the pick up and refer to it often for ideas. So keep up the good work, keep smiling and know that there are many of us who appreciate all the things you've taught us.

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Here's the basic design of the body.

Still have some fine tuning of the actual shape, but you get the idea. Paint will be pretty close to this design, just not sure yet how I'm laying the lettering out. The body will be composite.

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Sorry Rusty, nothing new on the truck at all! Every spare moment is working on the race car and all the stuff involved with it. I still need to finish the AC but I can't seem to focus on the truck long enough to finish it! Guess I better get busy...

Well it's been long enough! Gonna drive the truck up to the salt in August so back to finishing up the AC for the cruise!

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

I had a PM asking about my artwork and how I do it. I can still do illustrations with pen, pencil and airbrush but the shirt/screenprint stuff I draw up on the computer. It's not cut and paste and there is no "magic art" button, so I still have to draw each and every little detail by hand! This is an art deal I did not too long ago for my friend Bobby, who owns the fuel altered I push.

Every bit of this I drew up (I fixed the A/A and made it the correct AA/Fuel Altered for those of you who caught it) so now it's all done! Didn't mean to get sidetracked on my post, I just had to share!
