Re: Project: Blank Slate
Alright guys... it's finally time for an update and what an update it will be.
One thing I haven't told many is that my wife and I found out last August that we were to be blessed with out first child. The anticipated big day was to be either March 11 or 18. Well as time went on my wife and I started piecing things together so that when he or she arrived, they would have the items they needed and maybe a few extra cool things too. As the due date continued to near, the pregnancy seemed to be going great until we reach about a month and a half out. My wife began to swell with extra fluid and long story short we were getting a little worried with each passing day. On February 25 we headed in for a 'normal' appointment and at that moment our lives changed forever. After getting settled in the doctor's office her doctor came in and said (to me) "I'm so glad your here." I though, well heck yeah here comes the husband of the year award. Well, not quite... The next statement was "Well, we need to get you over to the hospital as a result of such and such, we need to induce you. You've got 30 minutes to pick up something to eat and get over there as they are expecting you." Needless to say my wife and I looked at each other and though... "what?!?!?!?!?!" Well to make this short after being induced and in labor for close to 17 hours, we were at the crucial time. At 11:38am, on February 26th, we were blessed with a beaufitul baby boy (Corbyn Riley) weighing a healthy 6lbs 4 ozs, measuring 20" long. Once he was welcomed into the world, he has been doing amazing, but as for my wife she has had a long road to recovery following the delivery. She successfully made it through the delivery, but had a few unexpected things pop up. Since that time, my wife is doing great and is unfortunately about to return to work. Here's a few pictures of our baby boy. (Man that's weird to say...)

Re: Project: Blank Slate
Now as I mentioned above... not only did we make the addition above to the family, but I also had to do a few little projects.
My wife and I are in the mindset that what was good for us growing up is also good for him. So with that in mind we set out to bring back some of the things that we used when we were being raised. One day while out at a flea market we stumbled across an old Cosco metal high chair that was in need of an update. The paint was a little worn from use, but the vinyl on the seat and the back support were in great shape. We ended up getting it for an exceptional price so it was time to put some money into it. With a quick call to a local powdercoater for an estimate we went out and picked our colors. Since we are a automobile enthusiast type family, I couldn't think of a better color combo than gloss black, red and chrome. So here's what we ended up with:

Re: Project: Blank Slate
After the highchair was finished I had the idea of modifying a pedal car for him as well. Since it will be several years before he is able to actually pedal the car, I need to modify it so he could ride in it now.
Checkout the following thread for more information and pics of the custom build chassis (built by kyull67): Tot Rod: Mid-MO Style

Re: Project: Blank Slate
I do have a few more things to add as far as "outside" projects we've been working on, but I do have a teaser shot of one truck related project.
More to come when time allows...
