Sometimes, well more than sometimes I wish I lived out west to see some of your guy's trucks. There are plenty of trucks in Ohio but not like out west. Your thread is great. The truck is great. I bet you can't wait until this one is featured in a magazine or two.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
i hope the balast doesnt get so hot it will melt the ziptie , not sure how hot those things get the plate will prolly act as a heatsoak anyway
the aftermarket xenon ones get pretty hot , they allso burn through when you start the car with the lights on , sumtin to do with a temporary drop in volts

Hi Mike - The truck is looking awesome! I also like zip ties and seen some stailess steel ones at Harbor Freight the other day. Keep up the good work. Wayne

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
You're not in a hurry are you, it's only been nine years! I say screws, but that plate you're using is pretty thin to be tapping threads. Maybe some little nuts and bolts? Please, not the ty-wraps! All them little bits are looking sexy. How close are you to that bedwood!!!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
The issue is clearance on the back side of the plate, I have to keep this low profile enough that my front panel will still go on without touching it, it will all be hidden by trim panels .

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
maibe you can weld on small nuts or a small bolt/little length of treaded rod on the side where the devices will sit and mount them a little of the plate that way nothing sticks out the back , it might be a bit hard to keep the plate level and not have it warping on the visible side though.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Hey Mike, thought I'd chime in on your mounting prob. you could put washers under each corner and use rivets. the washers would also keep the back from touching. might help dissipate heat.
scratch that, I just looked at the pic again. that won't work. I thought the holes in the panel matched the parts.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Hey Mike how do you get the visor rods out of the visor? Does it ruin the original visor? I know this is probably a ridiculous question but I do not have any visors yet and this would help me decide on which ones to get as it is much easier to find ones with nice visors themselves and crappy rods (which I could paint like you did if it doesn't ruin the visor). Thanks! Blue is looking better every day

Just had to keep this thread from hitting the second page. Seriously, though, progress is looking good!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Lots of misc progress this weekend ! Headlight relays all in place, CPP brake booster/master cylinder mocked up . Added a trailer wiring plug to disconnect my rear taillights/fuelpump/fuel sending wires to make it a little easier if the cab needs to come off, did the same with a different plug for the front clip....trying to think ahead !

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
a few more, worked on routing my Painless wiring...cant wait to get it all wrapped in the new Classic Braid ! Started installing the Aluminum washer for my control arms from Michigan Metal Works it adds a nice little touch ! Also bought some epoxy and modified the lever that Painless recommends to use with their system so it would bolt to my colum
