For that kind of money, one could have done a much better job of faking a Cheyenne Super (Post 8263)

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
The list is long on this one... but at first glance:
Big blocks not available in any 4x4s in this era Black vinyl trim not available in a Super unless ordered with bucket seats (GM never made a black vinyl seat cover with houndstooth) Has Custom Deluxe door panels No gb door woodgrain No dash woodgrain Some of those may be cosmetics - but the claim that the truck was ordered with all this stuff is false - it couldn't have been. It is most likely a Cheyenne K10 (black headliner - which can ONLY exist in a Z84 Cheyenne trim level, unless a Super is ordered with buckets) - which would have been a very nice truck if someone hadn't gone crazy with the lipstick and buzz words. |

Wow. Thanks for the info. Somebody may end up with something unexpected. That's a wild price, too!

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
We should be thankful for veteran contributors like jocko and others for posting the correct information about these GM trucks.
Thanks jocko, for setting the record straight on these for sale ads and auctions. Critiquing can be positive and fair to correct misinformation. I am always learning from this site about my 72 and the other 5 years. Last edited by samkost; 06-26-2020 at 03:50 PM. Reason: spell |

Oh man! You must be talking about my truck. More lipstick than buzzwords though.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Oh. My. Lord. It's like a two-headed Lincoln penny! The only KE10734 in existence with a CCE VIN - now that's GOTTA be worth a few extrat thou...!
Like I said, seller could've done a much better job of faking a Super. Didn't even properly fake it as a 4x4... |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
All that for an estimated $120K!!!!
All that money spent and none left for photography. To me it looks like they got one of their kids to take the pictures.

Ken, was wondering the same thing. Perhaps a C10 lwb swapped onto a K10 swb chassis w/shortbed added. Or at least I HOPE someone didn't sacrifice an original C10 Cheyenne swb big block to make a K10. If they did, they likely lost money if it was an original swb big block Cheyenne C10. Who knows... |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
I use these exasperating figures to explain my need to keep the garage full of my trucks. I just tell the wife they are worth bank and going up every day. I check the 70 swb 4x4 from time to time on NADA guides and OMG. It is just crazy. High retail is $82,000 HAHA!

72 K20 Cheyenne Super Custom Camper w/big block transplant $24.9K
Good thing they labeled the big white building in the pic, I never would have guessed it was a barn... That's kinda like putting door art on the K20 that just says "truck". 72 K5 Cheyenne black w/blue highlander $34.9K |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
71 C20 Cheyenne Super $14.9K - needs some obvious cosmetic corrections for a resto, but most of the hard work is done. Mainly posting as an example of Z84 and YE9 on same SPID - not common, but has been done before. It's still a real Super.
72 C20 Custom Deluxe Custom Camper $3750 Likely a Highlander. This won't last long - solid and great price. 72 K20 Cheyenne $25K Note - the only K20 I've ever seen born with 574 paint. Last edited by jocko; 07-01-2020 at 08:54 PM. |
