Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
For that kind of money, toss the firetruck body and sell the winch, hooks, etc., for enough to put a camper on it. If that was near me, I'd buy it and do that.

It's not the whole truck but if someone needed a BBC for a resto this looks like the one. |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
1) The 402 was not available for sale in California in a 1/2-ton truck.
2) The engine shown in the video is not an original 1/2-ton 402. The emission label is only on 3/4 and larger trucks and ALL '72 1/2-ton 402 powered trucks had smog pumps on them. The truck shown does not have the correct A/C- Smog bracket on it and the exhaust manifolds are not fitted with AIR fittings. 3) A good check is the 2-digit engine code. All 1/2-ton '72 model 402 trucks have engine code TLM. |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
That's what I was thinking! You can buy a whole running truck for that kind of money.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Ahhhhh..... now that makes a little more sense. Can't imagine there will be a herd of people there to big against though - not everyone looking for an old burb (except the folks reading it here!) I kinda despise silent auctions - they benefit the seller, aren't exactly an opportunity to get a good deal. One person will win and probably pay MUCH much more than the #2 bidder.
