one stock one. I couldn't get to one with my big ham-sized Popeye forearms... Anyway, I don't know what 168 Nokya hyper-bulbs are. I know it was $40 including shipping for four...which I thought was steep. Hope they last. Maybe these pics will help someone decide whether or not to do the switch.

Re: " Making The Correct Guys Cringe "
Less than you think ~ a thing of quality is a joy to behold and your seats and belts plus speakers , carpeting etc. all look very good indeed .
Besides , you're the one paying so who cares what others think ? . Me , I wheezed it to work where we had Shop Cleanup (hard works for an Old man) then I went to Pep Boys & got two oil change kits , drove home , swept the driveway and hot changed my oil & filter then drove it off to Sun Land for an old car gathering of The Faithful .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I put my new bumper on my truck today. It had a 71-72 bumper on it when I got it 6 years ago and always wanted to get the correct bumper. I had some bodywork done to the fender back in December/January so the old one came off and I figured nows the time to make a swap. I have been riding around without a bumper because I was waiting on some warmer temps to paint the backside of the bumper, but I finally have it on now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
DISCLAIMER: ON
I'm only posting every day because I'm out there working on it every day. If I get too loud, someone shut me down. DISCLAIMER: OFF Today, I finished plugging the leaks in the new electric fuel pump set-up, re-installed the carpet and tank cover, after adjusting some of the in-cab wiring. Fuel delivery system is now fresh from the tank filler to the intake manifold. Went to start it. Perfect fuel pressure (I have a gauge on the line)..."crank, crank, crank".....After three years of every once and a while non-starting, this non-start helped me finally figure it out. The (new at the time) manual fuel pump was sh*%. Pretty. But sh*%...... ....And, I wasn't getting a full 12v. After checking at the battery, I had 10.4v. I checked because I put the meter on the electric choke that wasn't closing. That's what it read. Then, the same reading at the battery. I put the charger on for about five minutes and "Vooooooommmmmm!" Went for a ride. Wouldn't shift properly. Trans fluid leak.....And, I looked under...New rear main leaking. Aieeeee!!!!! Oh, well.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Ground out the old cracked and weathered seam sealer in the drip rail, sanded, and resealed. Should have been done 20 years ago and is the cause of about half of the rust that it has. Hope the rain/snow holds off long enough tomorrow to let it cure enough to sand a couple spots smooth and shoot some primer over it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I tried to start the '67 to move it out of the garage so I could replace the radiator in the '92 K-3500. The 454 in the '67 wouldn't start, I think it is a fuel problem.
I decided to use my 4 wheeler, Kawasaki, to pull the '67 over to a carport. Finally got the '92 in the garage and removed the old, leaky radiator. Had to stop and help my brother work on the hydraulics on his little Kioti tractor.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Replaced a leaky lower hose, moved the temp sending unit while I had the coolant drained, replaced the power steering pump and pressure hose. Sounded like marbles rolling around in there!! Tracked down a tranny leak. Had to watch it for a while running to track it down. More to do tomorrow...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Hauled an old furnace, air conditioner and some recycling this morning.
This afternoon, reattached the downpipe to the exhaust manifold after I literally "blew a gasket" but this time went sans gasket thanks to some advice on this forum. It'll hold 'til I get my new manifolds or headers. Changed oil and filter. Drove it some more with the window down. It was a beautiful day in Columbus, OH. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Installed the OER tailgate that I found today at Summit's "Scratch and Dent" sale (which cost me less than $100, including tax).
Also installed new fuel sending unit and was surprised to find this part from LMC had a metric size hex (but fortunately retained the proper, non-metric thread for the steel line) on the fuel fitting. |
