Post Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I'm supposed to go get another shock mount and install it to - day but after yet another 20 hour day yesterday , I'm beat and sore , maybe I'll wait for the one Dano found for me .

I hate driving and feeling the R.R. Wheel bobbling as I go .

Not safe either ~ I must drive slower than I usually do .

Maybe I'll suit up and head to the junkyard later .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

well in post # 7164 i was a happy camper, well we had a storm last night, and the wind blew 80 mph, and the shingles on the back side of my house are now in the yard, in the street , and all over old dollor...they hit it several places and scratched the top, hood ,drivers side door, and bed by the spair.

we had 1 " of rain small hail, and realy bad winds, two storms blew in about 30 min. apart. here are a few pic's of the paint.....

Ah crud ;

By the looks of the roof seam , it's time for paint works before it rusts away in any case .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I put a seat cover on. The seat was re-done by the previous owner in bright red, so decided to change the look a little to suit my tastes.

Real sorry to hear about this Dollor. The storms lately are pretty scary, hang in there. I have minor earthquake damage up at my cabin, so none of us are safe. But from the sound of the storms, I'll sit here and wait for a little shake or two...LOL

Sorry, ole dollar. Maybe you're not supposed to sell her?

I painted this morning.
One panel.

Tractor Supply Matte Black on the pass bed side.
Maybe one more panel tomorrow.

Turning the RAT 20-footer into a RAT 10-footer for $30/gal.

you know i think you are right about not selling ole dollor...i am really thinking of keeping the truck. if the guy that is supposed to come by today don't take it, i think i will keep it... the noise is fixed, and i can always fix the damage the wind caused last night..

i have used the black tractor supply paint on a trailer a few years back and it turned out real good. good luck on your paint job...truck is looking good...

Got my air conditioner to work after replacing the expansion valve, dryer, etc..Hopefully the freon won't leak all out. This was at about medium fan speed.

thats not to bad , but discharge temp should be at least 44 deg. were you parked or driving when you checked the temp.

It was parked in my driveway...No air going through the condenser...I wanted to do it while driving but of course that is not going to work.

first time you get a chance check it driving down the road and see what the temp reads. it might cool better with a little air cooling the condenser...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

What a PAIN!!! "I finished" painting my (now) $87 paint job. Turns out one gallon of Tractor Supply Matte Black, my cheesy
spray gun from Orchard supply, an anemic 1.5hp 110V compressor, about sixty pounds of rags, good yellow 3M tape, a few tack
cloths, and a half gallon of lacquer thinner for cleaning (I even thinned some of the enamel with it....tsk, tsk....)

$30 for the paint, $57 for other supplies.

About twenty hours of masking (very "fussily"), pulling off emblems, etc., and sanding with 120 on some rough spots.

This is what ya get.
Not pro. But not too bad.
