Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Started blasting my new to me rear end. I didn't have a lot of time so I just messed around for a bit. I am using a HF 50 lb blaster. I just wish I had a bigger compressor. It will take a couple of hours to get it done but it will look good. I'm going to put new seals in it por 15 it and put on a chrome cover and olts. The brakes will be all new and new u joints. I'm also having the trailing arms powdercoated and new bushings and bolts. 1st pic is half blasted pumpkin 2nd pic is the axle tube kinda blasted.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

What are your compressor specs? I've got a single stage 60 gal, 135psi. I wonder if that's enough for occasional blasting...

Mine is a 25 gal 125 psi. It will work but its going to take a while because I will have to stop and wait for it to refill.

Mine is only 4.3 at 90. Its good for about 30 seconds at a time. Maybe time to go get a new compressor.

Just the front makes all the differance in the world in the way it handles, I really enjoy mine after it was installed.

Worked on the bed today. Was able to save the bed side but replaced the bottom portion of the tail light panel.

Tail panel welded in.

All done.

Other side next weekend.

I bought it from Brothers and it's Med Blue. It was a little lighter than i wanted but I think it will look good with the Blue and white seat. It took me a few Hours to get it cut and smoothed out. Just like any reproduction it has flaws you have to work out. I like it!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Fitted my 'UK legal' age-related number plates and took the bench seat out ready for the mother in law to retrim using the mexi blankets i've got.

Sprayed some WD40 around the elctrical connections to help keep the damp out due to our ****ty weather, but now the bloody truck wont start, no click from the starter....nothing........

Two steps forward one big one backwards.

Hey Neatbeard are the plates big and long or are they more like the states have these days, and do they have vanity plates? Welcome if you are new to the forums...Vernski

I only had a couple hours to work on the truck today, but I managed to get the passenger side cab corner welded in.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Nice going RaceCougar....I'm in the floorboard fixin stage as well. Every time I wire wheel I find another area. Spent this afternoon grinding off 1/2 inch of bondo on the rear part of the fender after I patched some more passenger floor board areas. Big thanks to mig and grinder and clamps and hammer...I couldn't have done this without you.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Mounted my freshly painted rear bumper and then removed it to trim a little more off. I had trimmed it before but realized when I put it back on that the trim job I did was based on it being slightly bent. When I straightened it out, it needed a shade more trimming.
Also took it to the car wash and sprayed off everything after a good dose of oven cleaner. Mostly concentrating on the back end. Next up is working on bed wood, so I am going to take off the bed and wire brush the frame, trailing arms, etc. and then paint with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer and Satin Black.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Oh, and I also added grounds from the taillight housing and the reverse light housing to the frame. Next is to move forward from the back end to the front and go through the old wiring rat's nest the PO has under the dash and hopefully get it all working correctly. Should just get a new wiring harness, but a little short on funds right now, so am gonna do it this way. I figure it will be a good education for when I do get the new wiring harness.
