Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Pulled the wounded 350/350 and am towing it to the carwash to clean it up in preparation for putting the Cad 500 and turbo 400 in it. More power is on the way.

I also ran to the wrecking yard and picked up a pair of the right brackets off a square body to mount the 500 per what others have done.

Now I need to dig in the sheds and find the 425 pan and pickup tube I saved when my wife blew up the 425 I had put in my 82 Deville. She just called my buddy to come get here and tow her home when she did that one.

You should be able to get those screws from LMC.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Looks like I'm moving to Dallas, TX the end of July ... so I sent it to a board member near me that restores cars.... he's going to finish the job I don't have time for anymore... Sad but happy at the same time, I know it will be done now....

Worked on replacing Rocker panels. Got old one cut out, and found rusted out A-pillar. Waiting on parts to finish.

Post Re : Then :

I removed the right inner fender and discovered the bottom edge of the core support was rusted to junk , pix or of the leading edge of my old inner fender , the bottom of the core support looking up from the fender well , the bits of combined core support , leading edge of the inner fender and bolts , all this broke off in my hands =8-^

Last pic is of the typical So. Cal. Pick-A-Part $7.00 inner fender :

This what I did the other day. All that is left is the outside of it, tailgate and fender wells.

Exclamation Re: What did you do to your truck today!

sKnNyPpY :

Yes ~ ignition timing is extremely critical and running it with out checking it is asking to ruin the engine in short order for several reasons , too much advance is bad as is retarded .

You guys are doing some killer works here , I think that gray color will look sharp .

I drove my truck and the exhaust fumes nearly killed me ~ I think I'll replace the exhaust manifold next week . to - day Charles gave me two of the special bi - metallic exhaust damper coil springs so I gave him a vintage 235 intake & exhaust manifolds , his ' machinist ' turned out to be retarded and milled the original exhaust manifold to junk .

Rocinante's at the shop getting some finangling done on the E-brake for the 14-bolt full floater I just put in. In the meantime I'll sit on the edge of my seat waiting for it to be done. I don't sleep right without her...
