Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

Ok thanks for the info. Do you have to use the caprice calipers with these brackets or will other calipers work as well?

I used LT1 F-body calipers. These calipers have an integrated parking brake. The caprice/impala calipers do not. I'm not sure what parking brake set up they use.

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

Did some looking around on the forum today and found that glock35 doesn't make these anymore but captfab makes them and sales them here on the vendor marketplace page (good luck finding that) and he states on his sale page these will fit the fbody calipers with ebrake. Thank you very much for the info.

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

Looks like you went without using shock relocators front and back. Just wondering if these are something you would recommend to others or are they not all that important. I'm guessing you don't have these, I didn't notice them on some of the earlier pics in your thread. Thanks

I have ECE's rear shock relocators. The fronts are in the stock location.

Been admiring this truck for a long time (as well as your other project) and I want to put the C notch in the way you did. What size of pipe did you use, 4 inch?

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

My only update on this truck is that it was in Classic Trucks Magazine a few months ago with pictures from the Goodguys show in KC last year.

Been busy with work, working on my 69, grad school (MBA), newborn baby girl (born May 1st).

I did manage to make it to a car show a few weeks ago and I noticed my A/C isn't working. I'm pretty sure one of the lines on the inside of the firewall leaks and its a huge PITA to get to. I think I'm going to have to go get some cheapy harbor freight wrenches and grind them down so I can get them to fit in the tight space to get the lines tightened up correctly.

Otherwise not much. Going out to Seattle next week to get that house listed for sale...hopefully it will sell quickly and we can get out from under that (loosing money each month even though its rented out). Then I might finish up the little loose ends on this this truck (spray in bed liner, brakes, gear box) and maybe get on the motor mods

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread

Ack you may have mentioned it earlier in the thread but it has been a while since I read the entire thread and was wondering what your final decision on how the brakes were. Are the F body brakes working for you? Would you recommend them? Also do you have those on a 12 bolt? Trying to decide which ones to put on my truck

Congrats on the new addition to the family.

Good luck with the sale on the WA home. I wish I knew somebody in that area of the state looking for a place to help you out.

I used an autometer programable fuel guage (with the trans am sending unit). The filler goes through the frame and kicks up into back of the wheel well on the pass. side. I'll see if I have a pic
