Just from the cab back. I should have built it all. Would have been less work.

What made you do that?

The way these trucks are built. The beds are out of proportion. I wanted a regular length short bed.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

Few pics of my current project that I picked up about 3 weeks ago. Been putting in a bunch of hours to try and get it ready for Cruisin The Coast next week.
First pic is the before/after.
Untitled by efi-street, on Flickr
Couple of pics of it with my original paint '72.

Untitled by efi-street, on Flickr

Untitled by efi-street, on Flickr

Mcgaughy's 4.5/6 drop sat too low in the front, so I added a 1/2" rubber spacer/isolator until I can decide what to do next.
Boss 338 in 20x8.5" with 5.25bs and 20x10" with 5.5. 255/40/20 and 295/40/20. The next one (red one in the pics) will get 255/35/20 in the front or will go 3.5/5 drop.
Red one is getting LS power and I'm building it for my son.

efi-street, very nice herd you have! Some time ago I was deciding to find a 67 - 72 or 73 - 87 and settled on eventually getting one of each. Your pic's reinforces that.

Thanks!
I was lucky to get the '72 when I did. It's original paint and low mile. I couldn't afford it now (bought it 8 years ago). I've definitely seen an upward trend in prices of the square bodies over the past couple years locally. Figured I should grab a couple to build while I still can. Really want a 2wd K5 to build for the power tour as I wanted something big enough so that the whole family could ride with me next year, but these rcsb trucks seem to find me over and over.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

Thanks. It is considering six months of snow per year. But the wheels are just as ugly as the rear bumper. Engine is a 350, I am trying to find what size of spacer I need to get a result looking like that

C-Man,
Even though I had to turn my laptop, very nice looking truck. Hard to come by in Illinois. How about a couple more pics, side view, interior. Like your wheels too.

Even though it is sideways, nice stance and great rim choice, I agree on a few more pic's.
