Re: 68 S/C update.....

You have built a really nice street truck. Great work.

Nice little shed you have there. Wish I had the room to build one like that at my place.

About the same size, but more overhead storage and some separation from the house....

Thanks! A boardmember (Shifty) started the project and did a great job compiling parts and putting the concept together. I'll start a build thread sometime this fall...

Re: 68 S/C update.....

OK, possibly thinking about upgrading to an LS motor. I want to drive this truck more often and would really like the overdrive and A/C, . A buddy of mine said he will buy the supercharger setup for his 67 Nova, as soon as I pull it off, . So, how much do you guys think the motor and transmission are worth? Carb to pan and with a built Sid Neal turbo 350 transmission? The setup has about 6K miles on it. Thanks for your input!

No idea on value, but I vote DO IT! If you're gonna, might as well make it NASTY though. Can't pull a snarling blower motor and replace it with a 5.3. I'm thinkin' big cubes and high compression for that 'Hot for Teacher' intro idle. My .02...

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I say go N/A LS. Blowers, S/C, turbos and all that jazz are cool, but the upkeep on them are expensive and tiresome. Now, if you are not gonna drive this truck much and not put lots of miles on them...cool. But, if you're gonna drive it as you say you are, then there is far less maintenance on a N/A LS. Just my opinion and I know lots of guys are gonna totally disagree with me because everyone would love to see blown, TT setups and S/C C10's because it looks so damn cool. But the maintenance and upkeep on a driver aren't worth it to me. I was going to do a Kenne Bell in my Chevelle. That was until I did my research and found out about the maintenance of the S/C itself, oiling and upkeep of the intercooler I decided that was too much for me.

Turbos are maintenance happy for sure but roots style blowers i totally disagree. I installed a MP122hh magnacharger on my buddys truck and 3 years and 50k hard miles later its still going strong. Just a oil change and belt change the supercharger technology of today is top notch. There are factory supercharged cars running aroung with 200k miles on them that have never even seen blower maintenance. As for kenne belle stuff ive also heard about problems with there stuff, but magnachargers and whipples... your good to go. Throw 8lbs at it Rob

What tank are you using? I won't to put a 502 ramjet in my truck with a in line pump. Don't won't to have to pull the bed to change the pump.

It's similar to the Fuel Cell guy tank. I actually had a friend of mine build it to my specifications. It's got a sump, is baffled internally and has a return line. Neither tank requires you to remove the bed, the both drop out from the bottom. I'm running the Aeromotive 1000 fuel pump. It's supposed to be good up to 1000HP NA. Here's some pictures:
