Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Hey Glen,
Getting closer to Kool April Nights! Pdx roadster show was last weekend and although a top of the list planned trip, my wifes "out with some girlfriends" Friday evening played a hangover card for her Saturday. I was bedside nurse boy making toast, getting 7upb and OJ etc all day. Bummed, but a happy wife is a happy life. The PDX swap meet is in 2 weeks and I don't usually come back with much nor do I take much to sell. Mostly just hanging out camping on the track, naps, good food, people watching and midnight high speed mini bike laps around Portland International Speedway when the security boys go to sleep. We have challenges like spend $200 in 2 hrs then resell the items at our booth/space and whoever grosses more buys pizza on the way home or see who can buy individual pieces, assemble, ride for 2 days then flip a fully assembled vintage bicycle from parts sourced around the track. Good times I did install new chrome plated headlamp doors, adjust the lamps and figure out correct shock geometry on the rear of the truck tonight. I can not believe how much better the thing rides with the correct length and vertical placement of the rear shocks on an air bagged rig.....WOW! Plans this weekend are fan shroud install, fix a slow bag fitting leak and try to get the a/c compressor , condensor , dryer and lines ran to the firewall. I have my Vintage air Mark IV underdash unit that will install in the next few weeks. Have to prep for PDX swap next weekend, drop my Harley off at the shop for consignment and get the trailer and boat ready for some spring camping. Its going to be a busy 2 weeks!

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Let me know how the race deck floor turns out. I'm almost ready for a flooring upgrade in the 60 Avion.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention....the lug covers and knock off idea has me pulling out my hair on the install. Note to self, always mock up and get the fab out of the way before you spend the dough and the time on something cool. I have already re-studded the rear axles , re-engineered the towers, new lug nuts, spacers etc and still not 100% installed.

As soon as the rear 4' of sub floor in the Airstream is replaced the underlayment goes in and then the Marmolium sheet flooring goes down. I'll post a picture of the RaceDeck thats installed so far later this week.

I was going to haul it up on the car trailer just to have an escape rig from the track to dinner etc, but we always bring too much good food, never leave the track and if I did I would be too tempted to hang a For Sale sign on it to see what happens.

Awesome looking truck! Where did you find the knob for the heater? Or did you make it?

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
I thought that it might have been! I ordered two wiper knobs and it seems to work, but this one has the washer hole lol.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
I'll try to fill this one for the time being, but will keep an eye out for a deluxe knob without the squirter. I like the new stripe work. I just read through your thread, hard to believe its still the same truck! Awesome work.

Your pin striping looks way smooth man, are you happy with it !!
I bought myself a brush and plan on teaching myself to use it.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
I also own a brush set and some dried up can of One Shot. I just don't have the patience or practice to pull staright lines. My nieghbor is learning and I bring home car and truck hoods that have lip damage for him to hang and set flat to practice pulling lines on.
I'm really happy with any of the striping I have had done. Its a personal touch from another friend and also I understand the talent and dedication behind it. Its like car and truck tattoos, I collect a few from different peeps at their homes or at shows and just adds more carachter to each ride.
