Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
I'd say it depends on how fast you want to go. If you want to go sub 13's a 9inch is much better.

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
DJ do you know ?........over here about 150 euro (the netherlands ) in running order
i would absolutely go for a 9 inch , there not only stronger but its eazier to change the ratio too you can set the centersection up out side the axle and keep it for when you need it , if you have a second center section and the C clip eliminator thingy you can go from a streetfriendly detroit locker with highway gear to a balls out spoolsetup with 4.10's in about half an hour

I think you and I are gonna be freinds. You know, junkie see junkie do.
Here's a pic of the last one I had. Sold it about a year ago. I traded a 62 Nova for it [pics later] 3 years ago and never took it to the track. |

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
as of yesterday my motor is at the machine shop. Won't be long now.
Went to MSD's web page and found a way to check a 6 ALN box and coil that's been laying on a shelf for 3 years. It's all good. I thought I was going to have to by pistons but the cam I want puts the compression right where I want it. NO out of pocket $'s yet. |

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
8's Wow, I wonder how many trucks, old trucks not pro stock, can run 8's ?
Good Luck. Do you run heads up outlaw type stuff or what ? I'm gonna set my 69 to run high 11's low 12's. I don't care much for trying to run classes, index or brackets anymore. I just want to stay in the loop and play. Just to kinda' give you some history, I've run NHRA and IHRA super street on up to super comp for years. I dropped my licence in 02. I've been involved with some pro mod and outlaw street [3000 lb/4.50 sec 1/8'th mile] operations. Anyway good luck . I'll post some stuff soon. Here's a fan I ran accross. |

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
I like the Fan! I don't think that you will find too many full size trucks that run that fast and even less with trailing arms under them! I ran a fair amount of 6.0 heads up stuff last year on the bottle but I hope to be able to run close to that off the bottle next year then low 5's on the juice!

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Hey,
I asked a question the other day about clutches. I've received 0 reply's or comments. Did I put it in the wrong place, do something wrong, or just gettin' the freeze out ? I'm just asking you because being new to the site I may not be aware of something. |

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Thanks
I know I'll find it somewhere. I found this site looking for info and have been amazed at what's available. I'm just as amazed that I'm getting no feedback about clutches. Maybe I'll try www. Jurasic Park and hook up with Fred Flintstone. I'm having alot of fun with this deal and am trying to go off the board with some things just for fun. Try this. 4 speed muncie column shifted. The reverse could be operated with a small lever in the floor or cable mounted under the dash. Hell maybe a shift-noid and a button. I'm not that's what I'm gonna do but it's a thought. Hey I just built a fuel log out of copper for 10 bucks and it's cool. I'll post a pick. Her's a pick of my Mom and Pop 1955 |

Re: Its Mine the World Famous 67 Dragtruck
Thank for the clarification. This is what made the truck world famous to me this from when Tom raced it ten years ago. The truck was all steel when I got it but I have tried to lighten it up some. My truck has a race weight glass hood and doors. If I can lose weight elsewhere I may put steel doors back on. Last year the truck weighed 3200 with me in it. I'd love to get it down to 3000.
