Re: My new project 86 Silverado
around the first, i'll be getting these
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cca-1442-16 then i can use my checker and determine what pushrods i need, and order them... should be able to button up the top end after that, and get the engine/trans back in the truck

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
got passenger door on, pulled out a lot of parts yesterday, small things i need to paint, transmission linkage, fan, pulleys, brackets etc.
pulled out the wiring harness, reading the instructions etc. to get familiar with some of the finer details, and planning how i want to route it etc.

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
ordered these today
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lun-15385-16 they are for small block Ford, but SB Ford, and Olds have same rocker arm dimensions/geometry so they work, and are cheaper lol soon as they get in, I'll check for proper pushrod length and order my pushrods... updates soon

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
I know it's been a while, IIWII, I have the truck out of storage, all washed out/up
did pushrods length measurements, need 9.95" pushrods, contacted the engine builder to see what brand he recommends, will get those in a week hopefully, then I can finish installing rockers, and adjusting valves and get this back in the truck updates soon I promise LOL

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
Awesome build! Question, hopefully not a dumb one, why wash it with tide before wet sanding?

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
the truck sat up for 6 months, had green mildew/mold all over, so I washed it down with tide, then wet sanded, washed again... just wanted any and all dirt/grime build up gone
