Hey Steve… I have been watching a few games and spending some time with my family..

I did get a few things done.. Steering wheel is installed. Horn is working. Rebuilding one of the air vent doors… etc..

I am at a point where I am waiting on a few things

1. I had to remove and ship the Dakota Digital gauge set back to them the speedometer is bad. Waiting on that to finish the dash.
2. Waiting on Kyle to get a day to help me with the front sheet metal install and also to get the cowl painted. Hopefully he can get loose after the holidays.. (I know he has some other commitments he needs to take care of.)
3. Need to go out to MCBassin’s to pick up some windshield trim.
4. Waiting on Musclerodz to get my glass in.. Should be here anytime.
5. Waiting on a gentleman from Norman to install the front glass and trim. Setup for the weekend of Jan. 12th if the glass makes it in.
6. Still looking for some better late model seats that I have now..
7. Need to figure out what I am going to do about the front grill.. Strip it, polish, and clear coat or something else?

I am still working on what to do about wheels and tires.. Keep what I have or go with something a little more modern.. ?

And then of course get the bed and tailgate painted..

So not much progress but a lot of thinking….

Personally? I have Ultra 164 (Basically like Mickey Thompsons) rims on my truck, and I think they'd look great on yours.

By the way, that looks like a 4" lift on your truck. Is that correct?

Great looking truck Andy.. I like the wheels and tires.. Still not sure what I want..

I am not sure about the lift. It was on the truck when I got it. I am not sure what is up with it. The rear currently has 2" lift blocks and I am not sure about the front...

Re: Crash's 72 K10

Thanks!

I'd say 4" then judging by how level the truck sits. Sometimes, they make the lift blocks 2" instead of 4" so then it sits a little more level.

Re: Crash's 72 K10

Update..

Sandblasted, painted, rebuilt the window regulators and installed them.

Steering wheel is installed

A couple of pictures of the cab and fenders with the tape removed.

Removed the hood from the box I brought it home in and removed all the tape..

It looks really nice.. can’t wait to get it all together.

Rebuild the air vent.. Drilled out rivets, sand blasted, painted, new seal, and new rivets.

Re-routed the power for the radio, it was connected to the Key On power, I moved it to the ACC.

Went out to MCBassin’s boneyard this morning and picked up some front and rear window trim (Thanks Mike). I need to clean and polish all of it tomorrow (Anyone have any tips on straighten and polishing the trim?). I have a gentleman coming next weekend to install the front windshield. I did receive some bad news today, my glass order was damaged and I am not sure when I will be getting the glass..

Dang Mark, that's really looking good!

I really like the modern electronics and drivetrain coupled with the classic looks. You've got a very special truck going together. Look forward to seeing it in person.

Thanks Steve... That was the theme I started with.. I really like how it is coming together..

The truck is a daily driver; other than the paint it is not as nice as the pictures make it appear. If I could start over I will have taken more time in some areas...

I look forward to seeing your stable of classic someday..

Re: Crash's 72 K10

Gently tap out the dings from the rear of your trim with a hammer and small punch. dont take much since its so thin. sand it a bit to find the low spots. and take your time. originals fit way better but take some work to polish up. truck is looking good

Thanks.. I did use a small punch to remove some of the dings.. A couple you can not get too.. but the trim looks fine...
