[quote=Advanced Design;7462878]Wayne, Homer is an awesome truck...wife and I love the rendering! I think the most important part of the vision in your rendering is your big grin driving Homer.
Good luck with the sale! He will make someone a good truck.[/QUOTE Thanks. That would be cool if I sold Homer but would be nice to drive him for a while too. I appreciate the kind words. Hopefully the next build comes out good

Re: Meet Homer
Did you sell yet? I'd like to nominate Homer for the TOTM contest.

Thanks for the nomination, but I think for the most part most think he's some kind of a "Frankenstein" truck. Ole well, I like him.

Re: Meet Homer
My response to questions about the tailgate would be, "it's custom, I think it fits the build"

Not too much to report on old Homer lately. Mostly done. Driving to the local car show every Friday night. Fixing a couple little items like radio, fuel gauge, etc. Hope all is well with you and yours (everybody who reads this).

No, not ready to sell the 63 GMC. Yes, it's pushed to the back burner again. I bought this motor and transmission planning to jump into that build. THEN, I found this really nice little El Camino. Figured it makes more sense to put the new motor and trans in something I will get to drive all the time as opposed to something I only drive on the weekends. Once I sell Homer I will start the 63 build at the same time as the El Camino. The 63 will be a couple year project. I plan to be driving the El Camino by the end of the summer or before.

Re: Meet Homer
First I want to thank all who voted for Homer for Truck of the month. Hard to be that old sack of lemons turned out nice enough to win. I am kinda shocked.

Re: Meet Homer
Well fellas, it happened. Homer has been passed on the his new owner. Sold him Friday at Goodguys show. Got all my money back (close as I can figure) and about 75 cents per hour for my time. Yeah.
But, we all know going in that we are not doing this for money. It's just what we love to do. I am passing along this site info too so maybe the new owner will stay in touch. I know I will. I have met (computer met anyhow) some real nice folks and want to stay in touch. I still have more trucks to do as soon as I get done with the El Camino I am currently doing. Wife calls it "The Mullet". Not sure I like the new name, but it is kinda growing on me. Anyhow, thanks for all the kind words, encouragement, and advice. I will still post in the "Alternate Tinkerings" with my El Camino and Nova. Later, Wayne
