Branden (boostedc10) and Valarius_Starchaser have kindly offered to get me some wiring diagrams. With those diagrams, we'll see if I can figure it out, but options are always good.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Some more parts are starting to show up.
The transmission cooler line adapater from Sweet Performance (eBay) and the Tanks Inc. drop in fuel pump and corvette style filter/regulator with AN fittings. (changed my mind later, using factory pump from the express van.)

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
New parts are always cool. Love DD gauges too. Guess I haven't been following them closely...looks like they do air pressure sensors and display. Probably nice components.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Thanks guys! The adapter plates are made by a company called StreetRays. I found them on ebay. They also make a billet aluminum version, but these were powdercoated steel.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
I've sold it to a local guy. He's just waiting on me to pull it.
Edit: Turns out the guy misunderstood my asking price. Thought I was selling it for 10% of what I was asking. Well under the cost of just the front runner that was on it. I still have it, but I'm not trying really hard to sell it yet.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
More parts have shown up...
Doug Thorley Tri-Y ceramic coated headers (324Y-C) and Summit racing's "header buddies" which are like a ball and socket flange... supposed to not need gaskets, which I'm liking since my block huggers are blowing out gaskets like crazy. I masked off and painted the throttle body semi-gloss black, like the accessories. And started reassembling the motor The coil covers will be painted, but they were test fit in these pictures. As for the damaged parts, the seller has informed me that they have been shipped (except the harness) and they should be here next week. Still waiting on GM for the harness.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Time to catch up to where I'm at now...
Bought some Accel Extreme 9000 Ceramic spark plug wires and got them installed to check the fit. Had to return the trans mount dipstick since it was too short. The only way it would work is if it was mounted to the side of the bellhousing, where it would be behind the header collector. Obviously that wasn't going to work, so I bought the firewall mount version instead. It's 24" instead of about 18" (can't remember exactly how long it was). I'll have to make a different mount piece to get it bolted to the engine, but that shouldn't be difficult. Also received the fuse block, circuit breaker, connectors, wire seals and plugs. Then I started disassembling... and found a little bit of rust that will need to be fixed. There are other places, but this is the worst of it so far. I'll be cleaning up the firewall a bit before I pull the motor. I'm going to fill the blower motor hole, pull the A/C and get that plate welded up and remove the bolt heads. This is going to be a somewhat slow process. I'm still waiting on the wiring harness from GM, but otherwise I've received all the replacement parts for the damaged pieces. Hopefully the harness won't be too much longer.

Just read through this whole thread now. I can't wait to see more progress on the LS swap! That's something I would like to do to my truck in the future.

Thanks Mike Thanks Ryan, I'm hoping I get everything I need and this actually works! I'm pretty sure it will, but I keep having a lot of people around me say they "sure hope it works for me." Starting to effect my outlook on it a bit. SO... on to some rust repair. Think I'll cut some more to see just how bad this plate is behind the outer sheet metal. Hopefully I'm not chasing this forever. I'm also going to fill the old blower motor hole and try to match the passenger side to the drivers side of the fire wall. Here's a start at a piece of filler. Don't worry, I know the large round hole behind it will need to be fixed first.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
Well damn...
I just got an update on the replacement harness, and it's not great news. It's not bad news, but definitely not great. Since the harness was damaged so bad, replacement is all I can hope for. The seller has been trying to find a new harness, or at least a price that they can verify, and with 3 harnesses available for the 2016 vans, not one of them has a price listed. Since they don't have a price, they can't claim it through the carrier and send me the money. My only option is to wait (or go out of pocket, but that's not going to happen yet). The "not bad but not great" news is that they have an estimated time the harness will be ready (and priced)... November 14th. Another 2 months!!! I guess this will definitely be a long project after all. I guess that just means I can take my time and get the engine compartment all sorted out and painted prior. At least I have what resembles a harness to mock up everything with. Trying to stay positive on this.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10
This is a bit late, but last weekend and after work this week I've been able to get more of the front end disassembled and the engine closer to being removed...
Still need to pull the driveshaft, unbolt the trans mount and maybe pull the headers off. The down pipes are unbolted from the block huggers, but that might not be enough. We'll see when I start to pull it tomorrow. Wish me luck so I don't have anything preventing this from happening.
