Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Thats my point... It seems I havent been able to find a rubber seal that fits like the OEM ones that covered that gap so water diverted off to the outside.. I'm sure theres one out there, I just havent found it yet.

I used the rubber part of a window seal off a late model seal I bought at a yard sale.
I took the C10 felts and sandwiched the rubber between the felts and the sheet metal.. the rubber worked like a seal AND a wipe.
No idea what the yards sale parts were, but, the person that sold them said they were either Honda or ford

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

I'm sure I will get caught in the rain at some point, but this will be a weekend and evening driver into town so the only time it will see water is when I wash it.

Typically around hear if there is a chance of rain there is a good chance of hail so I will be watching that closely for sure

The new doors have some nice sized drains in the bottom and I live in a very low humidity climate so for me the original design is not an issue since it's not a daily driver.

It definitely could be improved on for sure.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Did some adjusting on the vent window seal, the seal is fixed at the bottom next to the vertical rail and can't be pulled up, thus the gap

You probably already know this, but make sure you set your fuel pressure with the vacuum disconnected from the FPR.

This is a different bumper than the truck had, am I missing something here?

Big gap of nothing between bumper and tailgate.

Love the carbon trim, looks awesome. Not sure about the bumper gap, mine looks the same way and never knew there were trim pieces to fill that gap.

Engine looks amazing.

Quick question on the FRP. What are you running off of the fuel pressure port? Is it a digital gauge and that is the sending unit part?

I like the carbon as well, it's not for everyone and you don't see that much on these trucks but I think it looks cool, and when I'm tired of it it's easy to change.

Yes that is the sending unit for a Dakota Digital Gauge

For your tuning purposes do you see an advantage to having the fuel pressure readout inside the cab? I planned on just hanging a gauge right off the FRP under the hood, but may reconsider if there is something I hadn't thought of.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

I don't know of anything it will help with during tuning as the tuning program will show fuel pressure during tuning.

To be honest, my dad had drilled 2 - 2" holes for gauges years ago, those gauges are now taken care of by the Dakota Digital gauges. So I had to come up with two more gauges or fill the holes. I put a time, outside temp gauge in and a fuel pressure gauge.

You can see them to the left of the main gauges:

Got some more shop time in:

All the A/C plumbing is complete, have to put supercharger heat exchanger on the inside, no room on the front:

Had to switch the fan to a pusher:

Some more test fitting:
