Pics for K25alive

On the chrome part, I circled in white, you can see the little square holes.
On the buckles, circled in white, there are little tabs. With a small screwdriver you need to get the little tabs to clear the holes on both sides. It can be tricky, but be ginger or the buckle will crack.
Now once you have the little tabs released, push the buckle forward so the tabs circled in red will not snap off. Once you clear the top of the buckle, it will come right off.

Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

Here’s a set of Burgundy Belts that were changed over to Black.
Belts were disassembled for through cleaning, prep and dyed all the plastic parts black. Rust removal. Through cleaning of the mechanisms and lubed for better retracting.
Belts were then temporarily reassembled and sent off for new black webbing.
Here are the before pics.

Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

Working on another set of 76/77 first style 3 point belts. Need Black, and since there never was Black interiors for these years, I need to take another color and make them Black, so using a set of Red. Belts were disassembled for through cleaning, rust removal and mechanisms lubed for better retracting.
All the plastic parts were prepped and dyed black. Now the set is temporarily reassembled and are being sent for NEW Black Webbing.
Here are the pictures of the steps it takes to get a set changed over to another color. They will also receive New GM Emblems.
Now is the waiting game, until they return from getting rewebbed.

Another set that was restored for someone’s 83 Stepside. Now he can get rid of those goofy aftermarket belts that don’t work, and look hideous.
New webbing installed

These were restored for someone. Charcoal Black. They were throughly cleaned and freshened with color. Swapped Metal NOS Buckles and a Lap Buckle since they were getting NEW Webbing. And they sure needed new webbing, lol. These were badly faded! Check out the Before & After Pics.

Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

Had a special request for belts to match the Shop4Seats they got for their truck. Had to pick a color that would match the 2 colors in the seat, plus they were keeping the Blue Interior color, so it needed to all flow together. So the color of the belts needed to be “Camel”, and then get rewebbed in the same color.
The picture of the seat looks more yellow in the 1st photo, but the leather is more Camel shown in the next 3 pics. This is why it’s best that I have actual samples of the materials being used. Pictures sometimes can be deceiving. Going off that picture of the seat in the truck, I would have sworn Saddle would have been more of a match. But once I got the actual samples, it was Camel that matched.
New aftermarket sleeves were used, and center lap belt was deleted since the seats are Buckets with a flip up console.

Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

67-72 Black. Not For Sale.
I got this set of 67-72 Black finished up for someone today. Bought this set off EBay for someone specifically. They didn’t look to bad from the pictures, so the plan was to just tidy them up a bit and install New GM Emblems. Whoever tried their hand at “making them look better” to sell on EBay didn’t do the BEST job. Mainly because they didn’t use the correct product for color. Whatever they used was immediately coming off on my hands. That’s not good! So I made the decision to go ahead and clean these properly and freshen up with color. Rust removed from the metal buckle parts. Buckle covers were sanded, cleaned, dyed and cleared with Low Luster. New Emblems installed.
Much much better! Here’s the Before pics.

Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

NOT FOR SALE
Got another set back from the webbing place today. This was a request to have a set of Tan changed to the 81-83 Blazer Gray. So these were completely disassembled for through cleaning, rust removal and lube the mechanisms for better retracting. All the plastics were probably prepped and dyed with the Blazer gray. New Sleeves. Then the set was sent for New Webbing.
Check out the Before and After!

Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

I just love this style of buckle! These are the 67-72 belts, and they are also on the 73-75 belts.
This set was sent to me to be cleaned and restored so they are NOT FOR SALE. Saddle is the color.
These were throughly cleaned, rust removed from the metal parts and then freshened up with the correct color. I did replace some parts on this set. The retractor housing was cracked, along with a couple of the buckle covers. One of the buckle housings and the male center belt were replaced due to still being pitted after the rust removal process. So better parts were swapped. New GM Emblems installed.

Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

This is a set of 78-86 Charcoal Black that was sent to me to be restored. These were in a 1987 Truck, and the previous owner must have thought the brackets needed to be on there also🤷*♀️. But these brackets are only for the lower profile 1987 Belts. So they were removed. Rust removed from all the metal. Throughly cleaned and freshened up with color. Mechanisms cleaned and lubed for better retracting. Replaced an emblem and buckle cover due to pitting.
One of the retractor covers was cracked, so that was repaired/strengthened with epoxy from the underside and top.
Check out the Before and After pics.
