Re: Project truck dream 65"
Porter mufflers here !!!! Just fitting everything up piece by piece.
Simfab in Kelowna is where to go for the best Tig welding I have seen...., hands down !! Their now doing all my exhaust welding plus some custom fab work. Cant wait to pop open those electric exhaust dumps when I get beside one of those door knobs that has his windows down playing that wrap s..t !!

Just finished reading through this whole thread.......
And I have to say, I bow down to your skills, constant pursuit of excellence. You are clearly in a different league. My truck will be a kitchen rag next to yours when it is done. Your engine really got my attention as well. Glad I found your build.

Re: Project truck dream 65"
Another busy weekend in the shop,Lokar e-brake cables at the rear installed, some wiring completed as well.
Last week I started on my gauge cluster.I had installed the original that came with the truck, then went stupid with the engine and decided I wanted one that would accept a Tach. So I finally found one and....well this looks like a tedious project but someone has to do it ! The gauge housing just now back from the powder coaters, will be sending the filler plate and mount to Greenback to have a 7000 Tach custom made. Meanwhile I wanted to use as much of the original cluster harness,so I started buy cleaning up the sockets tonight on the buffer...came out like new..., feelin good about using them now ! Figured with all the braided lined now uderneath...I might as well do the dif breather too

Re: Project truck dream 65"
Christmas bucks helped pay for a much needed tool,no more jerry riggin to lift and lower.3.5 Ton low profile...was a heavy S.O.B to lift, used a dolly to bring it to the shop.A little bit of duct tape to entertain my pooch!
Driveshaft in,e-brake cables in a working, next couple weeks the a/c box and wire harness in for good. Guess Im going to have to go wide with the rear tubs, clearance is a little tight for the Mickey's. Figured Id bring the truck of the blocks for a couple weeks and get a chance to see how it sits....,pretty happy

Re: Project truck dream 65"
Getting closer to dropping in the wire harness..,fortunately I came up with a few more ideas for lighting etc. before it happened ! This allows for an install that wont require alterations later on.
I built the radius by hand, not overly happy with it so I took it to the fab shop and ran it through the roller press...looks much better now. So I picked up some more sheet yesterday afternoon to finish the toggle box. Must be a kid at heart...underbody lighting, interior mood lighting and of course the electric exhaust dumps? Well atleast now I have an area that's clean and easy to access at the flick of a finger.

Re: Project truck dream 65"
Bigger project than I thought, another mod.....but looks good with the added underneath tray for my LED underbody control box.
I spent the afternoon sanding and polishing....another step in the build....., finished.

Re: Project truck dream 65"
The last few weeks has been a focus on obtaining the electrical components for interior and exterior lighting.
The last post here was an under seat unit I fabricated for all electrical controls for a simple flick of the toggle's at hands reach. So to elaborate on this,I included a pic of the underbody lighting that I think will be a nice finish touch when the project is finished. After way to much time and research...I found a set of led mini lights that have a high wattage/candle power to substitute as backup lights as you all know until '66 were not available.I was really surprised how bright these are...the pics don't due justice.

Re: Project truck dream 65"
This past weekend completed the passenger side exhaust..., all routed and within 1/8 mirror image of the drivers side, tom off to have it Tigged.
This coming weekend, the exhaust gets polished. Also installed courtesy light contacts(have no idea what their really called) so moving ahead at a reasonable pace.
