Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Painted the bellhousing and moved the rear end up on a big wooden box to finish cleaning and painting it.

Get yourself a heavy duty rubber mat to throw in the bed when hauling bad stuff..

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I disassembled and painted my deluxe heater switch setup. I just dremeled the rivet heads off an painted it then drilled and tapped for a 4-40 machine screw right where the rivets were. Be careful not to drill through now! Really easy. I can't seem to add a photo from my phone as i don't know how. I will add it later from my computer.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I finally go the old rear end out. I also discovered a lot of shoddy electrical for the tail lights so all of that is coming out. I am having trouble with the trailing arm bolts but soaking them in PB Blaster should work. I also found the rear springs to be cut and not attached to the trailing arms. So now I need springs both rear wiring harnesses and brake parts. Soon as I get the arms off they are going to the powdercoat guy.

Polished or unpolished strips? Where did you buy your parts from?

They are unpolished. I got the center strips from Classic Parts USA and the bolt kit and corner cover strips for LMC. Shipping was really slow from Classic but they were a lot cheaper for the center strips but more on the corners so I split it up.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Filled the truck with gas this morning and used it to haul a load of metal to the recyclers.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I had my rear end handed to me by this transmission tunnel cover today. It's welded up and "patched" but I need to finish outside in better light because of pin holes and a couple of thin spots.

lowslow64 that's some swanky paint - I like it.

Chuck - tail lights are cool too.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Had a good day with the truck. Pulled it in the shop to change the oil, then tinkered a little afterwards. Fixed the sticky column shifter, and loose column bearing.. (my fault). Truck drives like its new again! Very happy!
