Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Busted off 2 out of 6 studs while dropping the exhaust. Then had to grind off one exhuast manifold bolt while pulling off those. Found another rotted expansion plug too. Good times.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Replaced temp gauge sending unit and tore into my wiring to figure out why it still wasn't working. 3 hours and a ton of new wiring and split duct and still no working temp gauge. But the wiring sure looks a lot nicer now!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
While I'm pondering a rear disk set up and waiting while she's in paint jail, I stole another member's paint scheme and plopped it on my truck
with P-Shop. The "new color" on mine will be a little darker, and more to the gray side of silver, I think...More the color of the spokes on the wheels. But, I needed something to do without pressing "Buy It Now" for a $600 disk set-up that would have to sit in boxes for at least two months while I wait for RAT to come home.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
did my floor braces this weekend and ready to put the cab on the frame to do the rest of the body work, also looking at front end and rear end components such as disc brakes all around and 5 bolt conversion and power steering boxes then maybe in the garage it goes. check out my thread for details and picture on my project!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I didn't do it. But here's my first pic update from paint jail.
Kinda like looking at your dog at the vet getting ready for an operation.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
spent two weekends.
clean up and chase low oil psi. closed all oil leaks off.(so far) $15 oil filter, hi vol pump, new oil psi gauge, and changed the port from top of motor to down below, plus some lucas oil thickener to go with the new 20-50. result? 40-60 psi in cruise mode....http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/i...aah.gif....and up from 5 psi to 10 psi at idle in gear at temp. i think con rods are questionable as all the mains show no wear and nice consistent .002 clearance and are all clean with no galling. the oil pan was surprisingly clean, only 3 little grains of carbon. anyway here are the before and after. check my thread for more pics of my project.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I repainted the inside parts of my grille. It had already been repainted when I bought it so I figured I'd just go with that and sprayed on some fresh satin black.
Also picked up my first performance part, an edelbrock rpm intake. |

Nice job on the grille. If you're wanting a more stock look, with a little more depth and color separation, you can get some metallic gray/silver plastic spray paint from Autozone, and paint just the squares, and leave the flat edges black. I did mine last year Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
So what was your trick for not spraying into the inside of the "squares?
You use a brush? My hand wouldn't wanna be steady for that long....

Here's a new in the box GM '69 replacement to give you an idea of what I mean Here's a '70 grille Here's mine after I got it all painted Here it is after I replaced the broken squares below the LE letters Here's the piece off a '69 original grille from the junk yard to further bolster the theory that the entire square should be painted gray/silver That's probably TMI, so sorry... But thought it might help this guy and anyone else going for a factory look Posted via Mobile Device |

Then again, Mister-B, if you wanted to go with the "full" patina?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Traded off my perfectly good, BRAND NEW and perfectly good I might add, CPP front upper & lower control arms for a new pair of '67 bedsides and front fenders. I've decided to bite the bullet and get a PB touring DM and tubular upper & lower control arms .
