Appears the drive-shaft is bottoming out, may need to be shortened.

Thanks, I appreciate the positive feedback. That's a big job as I plan on pulling the enjin out to do it this time, so it will have to wait till Spring. I think I will button it up for the Winter (December 22nd being the official First Day) and work on things that don't require too much grease or painting.

Hope to Dyno Test it again in January (funds required)

Possibly install some shoulder belts.

Install one of the heavy duty truck floor mats (from LMC Truck)

Install some black mirrors that actually fit the truck.

Fix my new (used) 1978 speedometer.

We still got that Dash Pad to sand and paint.

pesky stuff like that while actually driving the truck till March 20th aka The First Day of Spring.

Hey Gregski. When you see the working results of all your labors, it makes all those cuts , bashed fingernails, and colorful language seem worthwhile, don't it? Enjoy your truck this winter. Lookin' good

Yes, LOL, thank you I have seen Payton Manings work, ha ha, sorry he sounds like Payton Maning the NFL quarterback. Very nice guy and very detailed videos. He removes the vent window, which is what I finally decided to do, didn't want to at first, but heck maybe that's the only way, we shall see later today, it's Sunday already. Yesterday I gave it three good attempts in between the NFL playoffs, ha ha

Re: Restoring Rusty

I just put my windows back together and can't remember! The biggie is getting the rollers all in BEFORE you bolt the regulator back in and using the window crank to spin the regulator into position.

You wouldn't think this would be necessary, but this is the backside of the crank and it was binding up in this hole before I could even get it on far enough for the splines to engage. I removed a little bit at a time until it would fully seat. You don't have to remove any material past the slot that holds the retention clip, that would put you into the splines.

Congratulations. I am a lot of years away from that point. I have a few months to make mine function. It will take a lot longer to make it what I want.

Thanks, and yeah, this is one of the few design flaws of our beloved trucks, that silly lip in the bottom of the radiator core support catches water, dirt, and of course battery acid drippings. The other terrible design flaw is the taco hood. Another one would be the dumb always on blower fan in the cabin, so annoying. Then there's the lame fuel tank filler neck that you have to squat and hold the gas pump nozzle just right or it will run on the side of the truck, LOL. There may be one more, but I forget.
