It's the Murfreesboro cruise in. They came from a friend in bowling green.

The 67's that had dog dish caps were basically the same as the regular ones except for a hole punched out for the front hub.

Pic of my 67 that was bought new by my grandfather in dec 66. Stock steel wheels with 66-67ish chevelle caps (I think) and a set of coker wide whites.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

What alternatives are there to the original steel wheels? Like the same size and that fit 69-72 caps? I'm having trouble finding a set in 6 lug

'73 - '87 standard 4X4 wheels are 15 X 8's, and they accept stock hubcaps and are 6 lug. That's what I was running on the rear of my shop. Here's a pic of them on my truck, and a pic of one from another set I just picked up.

I was running a 15 X 8 steelie on the rear, and a stock 15 X 6 on the front on that truck.

Nice looking trucks. I might be running 16" steelies if I can just find two more, they are elusive

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Thanks! That is one that I wish had kept.

Those 15 X 8 steelies are the wheels that came on M1009 Military Blazers, so if you know where any body around that has military parts trucks, they shoulod be easy to find.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

So I don't have to keep searching for this thread I just put some steelies on my '71 2500. Just trying to find caps for them now, but they are hard to find and the proper lug nuts. If no caps, then I'll just get bullet caps for regular lug nuts and run those.
