Re: Frankentruck

Today has been a great day. To celebrate the end of my last semester of undergraduate school, I drove up to Winder for a toy driver/car show. Got up before the sun did, then was able to watch a little bit of the sunrise over Lake Sinclair on my drive out. I met up with some of my friends from the C10 Club Georgia and got to go to one of my favorite BBQ restaurants (Smokin' Po Boys).

Frankentruck did great on the way up and back. In the past 2 weeks I've driven somewhere between 6 to 700 miles or so (indicated by the odometer) in Frankentruck with no problems. I'd say that's a fairly reliable truck!

Anyways, on to the pics! The blue 67 is my buddy Chaz's truck. He heads up the GA chapter of the C10 Club. His truck is super nice. The green one makes me want to throw a blower on Frankentruck really bad now that I know it will fit without cutting the hood up at all, not that I can afford one right know though

Re: Frankentruck

I absolutely love that Shelby Dakota. I believe this was the first one that I've seen in person. The square was neat too. He put the air management stuff in the toolboxes.

Re: Frankentruck

The last few that sparked my interest enough to take a picture. I sent the pics of the Firebirds to my dad, and he said that one of them would be a great Christmas present

Re: Frankentruck

Nice weather for a get together. I'd like to know more about the gold paint on the top have of that fleetside '64-'66 with the cowl hood. I want to do a graphic in silver (on my '75 stepside project) with a metal flake like you see on a boat, that gold looks to be about the right amount of flake!

Re: Frankentruck

It was a great time. I hope I'll be able to go to more shows in the spring when they start back up.

Karl, I'm not sure exactly what was done to create the bass boat look on that truck, but I was told there was several pounds of metal flake (I don't remember the exact number, maybe around 6 or so?) and 8 coats of clear

Congratulations on the degrees! That's quite an accomplishment after a lot of years of hard work; you must be feeling pretty great about it.

Re: Frankentruck

Today has been a vent window party. Removed all the door glass, cleaned and painted the part that connects the door glass to the regulator (I don't remember what it is called lol), removed the vent window glass from the frames, and cleaned out the old setting tape.

I'm using two sets of vent windows to make one good set. Hopefully I'll get it all done before the rain shows up later this week

Your are going to enjoy this Improvement

I have some Plano tackle boxes that look just like yours

I used them for bolt organization also

Thanks Andy. I hope it will remove the majority of the rattling that I have left in the cab. I've had the new seals for it since Christmas of 2019, but was undecided about actually installing them until this weekend. That's just how it goes sometimes

Those tackle boxes are my dad's. He spent some time cleaning out the boat a couple days ago, and that's where they landed. I have to find any available work space where I can. As y'all can see, while I was gone at school, my welding table was a nice, flat surface that quickly became another storage area

Re: Frankentruck

Flat surfaces are the worst.

You asked about the mirror mount from my donor door. I also have the vent window parts if they'd be useful to you. Otherwise, maybe Andy could use them.

Thanks, but I'm all set on the vent windows. One set gave up good vent glass frames while the other set gave up the frame that the seal goes in
