We just got back from there, there are some 81 up cracked up ones but I didn't see any 80 back. We found a few things but all in all that place stays pretty picked over. Saw a guy that just finished pulling a near perfect windshield. Man, day late and dollar short.

So what happened on the Boss rims? deal fell through? too bad.

Yep. It's stashed in my little room. It has one of those plastic covers on it, but I wasn't happy with it. I replaced it with a pretty nice dash, but that one has one crack. It's a little anal (especially for the way rest of the truck looks), but it always catches my eye when I am driving. I am in no hurry, though. Does she want to try door panels, too?

I was there today also, I think I saw one pre-'81 dash pad, but I wasn't looking.

Dash looks awesome man. It defintely looks a lot better on here than in the text you sent me.

Sorry to hear about the wheels man. I know that had been a work in progress for a while, and then to have it end that way.

The one in Valley Brook isn't a pull-a-part, but just a truck salvage yard. Just like Del City Pickup

Thanks, I think

Yeah I was super bummed that it went that way.
I really like the 338's

on to more bad news.....
My A/C compressor bit the dust
so now I'm trying to figure out where to buy a new compressor.

I can get a "New" one from O'rielly's for $180, or a "Reman" from Napa for $175....I'm thinking the "New" one is the way to go.
As most of you know I don't care for O'Rielly's, but it is special order from AutoZone and $10 higher and a 15 mile drive to Advance Auto. So I guess I'll probably try O'Rielly's.

I'm also planning on swapping my rear diff in the morning, before it gets too hot. I can't wait to drive it with the 3.73's

Man, Sorry to hear about the compressor. I jsut spent some $$$ buying all the parts for the 86 A/C. I know you lost what about $45-50 just in gas. That r134 is becoming the new r12. $9 a can? ouch! Hope all works out good!
sounds like you have a plan.

I would hope not since you know a certain guy at a local hardware store that will hook you up with good pricing on it!

Re: My Crew Cab Short Bed Project, AKA "Project Destiny"

You know, in almost 3 years we've never had to buy another container of freon for our machine. We try to make sure that any totals leave the shop (on their way to salvage) with no freon though. It's our way of helping the environment. Cause you know all they will do at the salvage yards is crack the line until it has no pressure.

Actually reminds me I need to get my tech to drain two on Monday morning. Sounds like Joe might need to hook up the machine while he's here next weekend, if he waits that long.
